Jane: Pete-e and I have been together for 32 years. We were both in nursing, and Pete-e served in the Korean War.

We raised a daughter together, and she and her husband have given us two beautiful grandchildren.

Now that we are getting older, we need to be able to take care of each other, especially if one of us is ill.

Voiceover: Don't take away protections for committed couples like family medical leave or extending health insurance coverage to a partner. Vote to approve Referendum 71.

Jane: For all Washington families.

Voiceover: Paid for by Washington Families Standing Together.

1. GOOD FOR THEM......
It's not the age , it's the argument for the future of the country.
I like the way " CHANGE " is taking shape.

2. pretty pitiful that folks have to beg for equal rights like it is something to be dished out to some

seeing this is both inspirational and distressing. insert yourself in the picture asking for help.

very sad indeed. I hope these ads make the difference because it sure is a sad America I see.

8. I never dreamed that one would even be POSSIBLE, much less necessary. Where I come
from "those people" were not talked about and hardly even recognized to exist.

That's a beautiful ad.

9. Perfect!!! This ad needs to run in all 50 states, day in and day out. Too many Americans
view gay couples as monsters threatening America's children because of the messages that the religious right has been inflicting on us for decades.

These lovely ladies and their family, along with thousands of others like them, put the lie to the sensational claims of those who would deny them equal rights with the rest of Americans. This ad portrays gay couples as they really are: loving, caring human beings who are no different from anyone else. America needs to have this image imbedded in its collective consciousness.

This is a beautiful ad and a great idea.

Recommend.

11. what you said!! KnR for a beautiful vid. It is SO needed in this age of
..geez, what to call it? an Age of Imagery Totalitarianism? It's pervasive and toxic, whatever you call it.

10. You should see the ad for the other team!
I hate to admit at this late date how DU illiterate I am, but I have no idea how to put up a video ad and little how to link to things that aren't obvious. But the other side of this fight has an ad up that will make you choke on your coffee. It starts out "And GOD created man..." and ends "Protect our children," and has an Adam and Eve that look like something out of the Charlie's Angels era. OY.

13. The religous right in WA don't care about anyone that doesn't
follow their religious beliefs.

Here is an article in today's Sunday Seattle Times...

In this second article these are religous zeolots that have immigrated to America recently.
