6. I bought it last week - Downfall
but have yet to watch it. . I seem to spend too much time watching these parodies.

The football related ones are hilarious but I guess you'd need to be into English soccer to understand.

15. I also recommend:
Downfall is an absolutely brilliant movie. Bruno Ganz, the swiss actor who plays Hitler does an awesome job. I also recommend a german film called Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex, by the same producer. It is about the "Red Army Faction" marxist terrorist group that was active between 1967 and 1977. Just like the Weather Underground spawning out of the SDS movement, these guys also spawned out of a radical student movement in Germany around the same time.

18. All the clips of the real movie are on YouTube
Just search for "Der Untergang" or "Downfall"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAJFg6MAvss

Parodies aside, the movie itself is very good and was nominated for an Oscar. It's a German language film about the fall of the Third Reich and as historically accurate as it can be. It was one of the first German films to break the taboo and actually portray Hitler dramatically. Bruno Ganz, the actor, does an amazing job.

9. OK - someone please explain the significance of this movie clip
I know it was from Hitler the Last Days or something, but why has it been changed to fit every occasion?

Is it a RickRoll of sorts?

13. Well lets see
if you want to right a rant about just anything that pisses you off and then set it to video, this is a good video to use. It was originally used to rant about the demise of an English football team, although I believe it was a fake rant.

14. Here you go: Hitler and the You Tube Downfall mash-ups
Hitler and the You Tube Downfall mash-ups
Hitler - and his raging at Ronaldo, Wii or Sarah Palin - has become an online phenomenon thanks to comic subtitling of a scene from Downfall

The use of this clip with "funny" subtitles, has jumped the shark.
