3. Too late.
Owens is trying his damnedest to alienate progressive voters, who are actually giving Scozzafava some consideration. SHe has voted in favour of abortion rights and gay marriage rights, and Owens has yet to point out any differences in economic policies between himself and Scozzafava. Also, Owens gets a big FAIL for his stunning lack of an internet campaign; no facebook, no twitter, a shit website designed by the lowest bidder, no advertising in progressive media (that I've encountered). It's like he honestly thinks independent voters are going to get off their lazy asses to support him on Election Day.

Oswego "AND WHY IS THE DCCC GIVING THIS CLOWN LEGITIMACY?!" Atheist

4. Umm, I think I'll be voting for Owens
Bill Owens thinks that companies receiving tax breaks from the government must live up to their end of the promise. That's why he supports holding big businesses accountable by taking away tax breaks from companies that outsource jobs away from Upstate New York.

“I’m Bill Owens, and I approve this message because I think you deserve to know where I stand. I’m opposed to raising taxes on the middle class or small business in any way, but I think we should get rid of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. My two opponents both want to keep those tax cuts for the wealthy, even though they would add five hundred billion dollars to the deficit.

I’m running for Congress to cut the waste in Washington, and invest in growth jobs, like renewable energy. I’m Bill Owens and you can go to my website for the whole plan.”

I support Senator Chuck Schumer's call for an investigation into why dairy farmers are getting paid lower and lower prices for their milk, while the price of milk remains high in stores. We need farm policy that benefits producers as well as consumers, so we can keep our economy strong for all the hardworking families of Upstate New York.

Dede Scossafava on Health Care Reform:

What the President failed to mention is that we need to make certain we don't crowd-out private sector insurance providers; that we allow Americans to purchase coverage across state lines, enhancing competition and access; and that we don't short-change our seniors by cutting Medicare and mistakenly calling it for 'progress.'

# I strongly oppose the Democratic proposal to pay for their health care plan by cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare for seniors and eliminating the tax benefit for employers who provide health insurance.

# I favor reforms to the health insurance market so that no American is denied coverage simply based on a pre-existing condition, and to allow the purchase of insurance plans across state lines.

Dede believes it is businesses – and not the government – that creates jobs. Consistently, time and again, Dede has fought waste and overspending. .... Dede favors lower taxes to spur economic growth and increase job creation.

Dede believes and supports:

* Making the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent
* A permanent repeal of the Death Tax

Dede also opposes Cap and Trade which will destroy American jobs and increase energy costs.

5. I don't know about internet advertising, but Owens turns up
on every TV show I watch. It's the first time I've ever seen any sign of a Democratic candidate in this district. Usually i have to do a lot of research to find out if anyone is running!
