12. I haven't - when they did the Winter Soldier hearings last year
and vets gave chilling testimony about what they'd experienced, it got almost no coverage.

15. I was there at the Winter Soldier hearings
There was lots of local press and the local stations and newspapers gave it good coverage. But nothing on national media.

13. It is mainstream
Mainstream RUSSIAN media. Not too different from any other European country's mainstream media. Or even Al-Jazeera for that matter. It's American cable media where the mainstream is propaganda and the propaganda is mainstreamed.

4. development???WTF??
Why should we spend what little money we have left on developing Afganistan and helping thier schools???
We have schools staving from budget problems here at home.

Cant we fix ourselves before fixing someone else?

Until we fix our own country, we will continue to fail at fixing other countries.

5. He said that
probably because the US is responsible for a lot of the destruction in Afghanistan. Don't you think that after you destroy something, looking for enemies, the nice thing is to rebuild it for the innocent people?

8. Besides bearing huge responsibility for the destabilization in Afghanistan.
The problem I have with this statement is that in a middle of a war, with sudden attacks you can't maintain infastructure and build a coalition, that is when most of the bombs and gun fighting has died down. We can't even send civilians out to do their jobs because they could get killed. So my problem with his message, although I respect and wishfully would hope we reach to that level---realistically it's impossible. Since the battle is between us and the Taliban.

10. Just remember

When Russia Today writes "INNOVATIVE ANGLE" - they mean "THE ANGLE APPROVED AND WANTED BY KREMLIN".

There can be merits to their stories ofc. But approach their reporting with caution.

14. They're merely rediscovering what the Soviets discovered.
The US could have saved itself years and lives simply by hiring a good war historian AND PAYING ATTENTION TO HIM/HER.
