Rep. Eric Massa (D) responds to President Obama's announcement that 30,000 more troops will be deploying to Afghanistan. Eric Massa - one of the few former military- representatives in our Congress says his 24 years in the military is 'telling him it is impossible to build a nation where there is fundamentally no national identity'. He has an absolute objection to a 'fool's errand' of increasing troops for Afghanistan.

Congressman Eric Massa is a Naval Academy graduate and a 24-year retired Navy Commander. While in the Navy, he served during several global conflicts including Beirut and Operation Desert Storm. His capstone military assignment was serving as the Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO during the Bosnian conflict.

I wonder what Wes thinks about this. He did say recently he thinks we should get out of Afghan.

Thanks for the video, too. I have been and am reading and listening to a lot of opinions and developing my own (long and detailed) response to Tuesday's speech and like hear from both sides of the argument. It's taking a long time but hopefully I'll have it finished sometime Sunday.

Right on healthcare, right on war. And expresses being right with action.

Only people that benefit from war are trying to makes us stay. If the majority of the people don't want this war why the hell are we still there!! This is suppose to be a Democracy why ain't our voice been heard, but meanwhile we got the minority of this county in control. The majority could take a lesson from the minority WE NEED TO GET MORE ORGANIZE if we really want to get out of this pointless, self beneficial, stupid war!!!

argument for-escalation HAnds down. Obama should be listening to people such as Massa who have the military experience and are knowledgable about the Afghan region and as well as...listen to the majority of Americans who disagree with Obama's political maneuverings.
