On December 12, 2009, thousands of people representing a broad coalition of climate and environmental organizations, activists, and other civil society organizations marched from Christiansborg Palace Square to the Bella Center.

The goal of the march was "to work towards a strong, binding climate agreement that is both fair and effective to minimize the dangerous climate change."

Despite some arrests, the overwhelming sentiment was positive and peaceful, culminating in a massive vigil outside Bella Center, where U.N. climate talks resume Monday.

Filmed and reported by Jacob Wheeler and Chuck Olsen; edited by Chuck Olsen for The UpTake: http://theuptake.org

6. But no violoence -
riiiiiiiiiiiiiight - this is the saddest, saddest thing I have ever seen.

The madness of people dancing to music, singing, a having a great time at the signing of their death warrant - madness in its most personified form.

The history of the world, every positive step taken by humanity every single step of the way towards a better and more progressive society has been drenched in the blood of people
protesting, revolting and confronting the powers that be. No power - EVER - has willingly listened to the people - ever.

This is the greatest challenge to human survival and is absolutely going to be pushed to the side in favour of continuing business as usual in the pursuit of profits - nothing will be done.

Nothing has been done and it is 20 years since Rio. In fact the best hopes are less than a quarter of what needs to be done to avert cataclysmic disaster - most scientists of any repute have completely given up on mitigation of the impending disaster and are now calling for efforts, funds and resources to be diverted to dealing with the fallout of what is to come -

and these MORONS dance in the streets and call for no violence - it makes me sick to my stomache - it is nothing but pure pussilanimous, obsequious cowardice of the most repugnant kind.

Revolting video.
