I think it was a hit in John Ashcroft's mind... someone suggested that the name of the song should be "The Eagle is Sore".

Ok it was just slightly to moderately off key...but then the forced wobbly vibrato and the dripping lyrics pull it off. Yes in hind site it was a very great hit....It showed this fool for an even greater fool who's overall effect was truly comic and worth a lot of guffaw's keeping on giving and giving. Yes you were right in asking was it a hit...For the Dems it was a great hit.
