29. You're right....stupid pays because the stupid base
(about 14%) still proudly sucks for their tripe....and remain committed to intentionally remain as they are....

This speaks ill of our Nation that 14% + are that in tune with Beck/Palin(GOP)....espec after the lessons of Bush and his tenure at the Helm....

5. George Washington was not affiliated with a political party-
-although my understanding is that he tended more towards the Federalists (who were the more conservative party at the time) He was an aristocrat and a slave holder, which suggests to me that he would have most likely been a Republican if he had lived today -although he'd probably have been a moderate (or maybe a conservative Democrat) I just can't picture him as one of the teabagger crazies.

Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic Republican (The party that ultimately became the Democratic Party) and would still have been a Dem if he lived today (probably too honest and idealistic to ever be President though)

Abe Lincoln would almost certainly have been a Democrat today.

28. The one and only?? Altruistic President...for him it was Country FIRST
IMHO, That makes him a Democrat...if not 100%....at least a whole bunch...

31. Metaphorically speaking, "R" is a Vowel.
Wouldn't take long for the followers to support her on that. It was a metaphor, yeah, that's the ticket!

She couldn't even sound out the word "diversity" without stumbling.

17. and he put down a tax rebellion
History lesson Glen and Sarah:
George Washington sent troops into western Pennsylvania to put down a tax rebellion, the Whiskey Rebellion, the very first teabagers.

13. But Beck wasn't even in the same ROOM with even a SEMI-attractive woman.
He was interviewing Sarah Palin - one of the ugliest Americans on the planet. Also, she's not even halfway pretty - if that's what you meant.

9. I think I get it now! All these supposedly "RW" commentators are PERFORMANCE ARTISTS!!
They're making commentaries on the sorry, debased state of the American corporate news media. It's obvious when Sarah says the best public servant is the one that's reluctant to serve - at the same time she signs a multi-million dollar contract to have her face in front of millions of potential voters every day.

10. Washington wasn't universally loved or trusted. Nor was he indispensable.
The main reason for our two party system is that some people couldn't stand Washington's ideas.

Stop making our founders into saints. They're boring that way.

12. Notice also the constant emphasis on the need for one figure to rise up and "save us."
Totalitarianism, anyone? These people believe that society -- REAL people -- working together can't do anything but that some fairytale character rising up out of nowhere will save them all.

11. I laughed my behind off watching parts of that interview.
How about the part where he was reading to her from his journal? That was hysterical. I also love the way these idiots totally romanticize the past. Really, like things used to be so wonderful, peachy keen, no problems mate. The reason things feel out of sorts now is because of these crazy ass right wingers constantly stirring shit up. I bet if these conservative idiots lived back during the revolutionary times they'd be calling our Founders traitors and demanding their execution. I actually feel things are returning to a little more normalcy with Obama in the WH. These right wingers are in constant hysterics. It's unbelievable.

19. Not only that
This keeps her at the forefront of the Republican psyche for the next two years, while keeping her out of any actual politics (something she's clearly not good at) and since this is Fox, they can pre-record all her shows, so her gaffes can all be edited out.

23. Our country is screwed
The fact that so many people want someone as dangerously incompetent as Palin to be in charge of the military and economy, or think of her as the 'next Washington' is a pretty bad sign. Our country is rotting from the inside out.

Much like taking a framing nail gun to the side of the head and going THUNK-THUNK-THUNK-THUNK, but only more painful. Cenk should just summarize the stupidity for those of us who can't take it.
