You know Stewart ate him for lunch, but it was edited so as to seem that O'Reilly was competitive. Unbelievably chopped up; most herky-jerky interview I have ever seen. Even beyond typical Fox manipulations.

When Bill-o insisted that people know The Daily Show is comedy, just as people know his show is opinion, the easy response would have been, "Sure, people know we're comedy -- we're on a network called Comedy Central. Just like you're on a network called Fox Opinion Network... Oh, wait... it's Fox NEWS, isn't it? Ooops."

Jon already used that line to shut down Tucker Carlson a few years back, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if Jon had a great reply that got edited out, given how choppy the interview was. I'm surprised Jon agreed to go on the show in a taped interview knowing it'd be sliced 'n' diced. Hopefully he insisted on access to the unedited tape of the interview and we can look forward to seeing Bill-o's manipulations exposed soon.

In the paper today (Newsday) this story was in the entertainment section, written by the guy who covers that stuff. He said that Stewarts comment about Fox having a fixed narrative and sticking too it so well was a COMPLEMENT that wouldn't have gone over too well if Stewart was on his own show. LOL.

And this is supposedly a young hip guy (Verne Gay). What has happened to my country and it's youth??

This bullshit idea that he's some kind of libertarian independent.
When bush was in, Beck was his biggest defender. Beck organized pro-war events called "rally for america" with Clear channel's sponsorship. And dear ol' Dubya even addressed the last one via video. I know because it was held in my hometown in 2003. I was among the 100 who came out to protest it. It was the usual "How dare you criticize the commander in chief ina time of war" theme with beck engaging ina lot of Dixie Chick bashing.

Now that beck's beloved GOP is out of power, he;s reinvented his public persona as some kind of anti-establishment "turth teller.
