2. He's got several things wrong.
Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 07:11 PM by Hissyspit
- His graphic does not include exponential temperature rising based on the effects of the earlier temperature rising.
- Much of the left's "fear-mongering" may be out of whack with the science occassionally, but recent studies show the "fear-mongering" may now be seen as often understated.
- What climate-data manipulation?

Everything he says about Beck is correct, though. He should have mentioned Inhofe, too. He also should have mentioned the LACK of snow in Greenland and Vancouver.

3. I've Got a Chalkboard too!
Glen Beck got schooled. Of course, he's still in the slow class so it probably won't take.

I find it interesting that Conservatives have no problem believing the weather report yet insist, when the same scientists talk about Global Warming, that the Meterologists are promoting a worldwide conspiracy.

16. Charts? Glen Beck could produce one showing that since you can see
how straight the horizon looks, that means the earth is flat.

17. You May Be Pleasantly Surprised... I Don't Think One Could Call Him
a Democrat, but I also don't think he's a Repuke! He has Eliot Spitzer on A LOT, and even Ed Schultz, especially when it comes to HCR! He freely admits that he meets with and talks with "both sides" and others all the time. He mixes it up, but for the most part he calls a spade a spade.

He's been more in tune with economics rather than science and that may be why he didn't mention some obvious facts. Since there's so much snow everywhere I think he felt he needed to "topic" it simply because weather has been so severe lately. It wasn't his strongest show, but I really like him. He's knowledgeable enough about Wall Street and used to work for CNBC covering Wall Street. I feel he has more inside facts than most when it comes to these issues. He most definitely doesn't like Tim Geithner nor Summers and regularly calls them out!

He uses the term Corporate Communists a much of the time, and touts his anger about how the BIG GUYS are taking "we the people" for a ride! I've heard him say it regularly and he doesn't hold back either. He has an "in your face" attitude, and doesn't let many get away with "spinning" which has made some angry! All in all, I would rather have him on my side than not. He's scrappy, but intelligent! But there are days when he gets his foot in the way, but does apologize when he feels it's needed.

MSNBC has been one of the better MSM reporting networks, even though they still cover a lot of silly sensationalism that is essentially only gossipy crap IMO! My thoughts about MSM are about the same as most of us here... not enough old time journalism where so much more is needed!

For now, I'm one of his fans...

By accidentally mis-quoting a Department of Oceanography professor with the U.S. Naval Post-Graduate School which he admitted to?

http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/tech-mainmenu-30/environment/2871-are-the-ice-caps-melting

“The entire polar ice cap … could be completely ice free within the next five to seven years.” So claimed global-warming magnate Al Gore at last December’s UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

The scientist he referenced, Dr. Wieslav Maslowski, is a Department of Oceanography professor with the U.S. Naval Post-Graduate School. Maslowski denied making the prediction in an interview with the U.K. Times Online. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.” A shamefaced Gore admitted gleaning the “ballpark figure” from a conversation he had with Maslowski several years ago. Yet only days before Gore’s Copenhagen speech, the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) published a report of Maslowski’s research. It read, “Should the present trend of sea ice melt continue, some models suggest that the Arctic Ocean could become near ice free in the summer time within one decade.”

15. new study from Canada -
"Ice vanishing faster than our most pessimistic models"

http://www.vancouversun.com/technology/Arctic+vanishing+fast+researcher/2532081/story.html

"Barber said before the expedition that climate scientists were working under the theory that climate change would happen much more slowly. It was assumed the Arctic would be ice-free in the winter by 2100.

“We expect it will happen much faster than that, much earlier than that, somewhere between 2013 and 2030 are our estimates right now. So it’s much faster than what we would expect to happen. That can be said for southern climates as well.”"

18. Conservatives Never Get Called On Their Bullshit
Beck, et al., can make claims like Climate Change is a hoax because they know that they will never get called on it. They won't pay a price for being wrong.

These are the same people that told us in 2004 that if we didn't vote for Bush, we'd all die, and now, they're distancing themselves as fast as they can from Bush because no one holds them accountable.

When the real disastrious effects of climate change are felt worldwide, many of these conservatives will be dead, and the ones that are alive will blame Liberals for not doing something about Climate Change years ago.

Being a conservative is like being a rich, frat boy. Live totally in the moment, tear up everything around you, and get someone else to clean it all up.
