Wow, has the world turned upside down in the past 24 hours?
First Bill O'Reily says that the folks at CPAC should NOT bash President Obama, and now a speaker at CPAC gets boo'ed for bashing the GoProud Gay Group that attended CPAC.
Something strange is happening here!

Edited to correct error: The Gay GOP Group's name is GoProud, not GoPride.
I apologize for the error.

1. Something about this doesn't seem authentic.
The event seems staged.

2. everything about GOPers is odd, but this is real, and I love it... The reason you hear the booing is
because GoPride is there - so they're booing, along with all the people who befriended them that day. And, wonderfully, that GOP thug is horribly obnoxious and judgmental and he's showing all the people on the fence how nasty people against equal rights really are!

This was great to see!

5. Yes, I agree, it almosts make you think they're up to something. Sad thing is, so many of their
leaders in the GOP are known or thought of as Gay closeted types, you'd think eventually, regardless of their politics about social spending, that eventually enough people who want civil rights for all would speak up in their party - maybe many there that day just happened to be Gay or pro-Gay rights friendly, and they'd had enough - bet it shocked the HELL out of some of those hateful types there, like that speaker who sounded like he was threatening some guy by name at the end of his whiny rant! Ha

15. Not only that...
I'll bet the SOB has never turned down a blowjob in his life... and that's not geared towards reproduction.

9. Why are these people so infatuated with homosexuality?
Is it possible that they have very deep repressed attractions for the same sex and that their fears of being homosexual are what is behind their condemnations? Can it be that they have been raised in a culture in which homosexuality was vehemently condemned at home and especially by their religious leaders and the fear their own condemnation? I think that in too many cases their revulsion may be in reality self directed. Haggard certainly comes to mind in this regard. To paraphrase Shakespeare, "I think they protest too loudly."

17. It may be a more general sexual repression
I mean, part of it is that they have a stereotypical and negative view of homosexuals, and they equate them with sexual freedom and "depravity", I don't know if you've noticed but a lot of people who don't like homosexuals think they just have sex all day and all night and that's all they ever do. Therefore, it may be possible that some of them may not be closet cases, just sexually repressed in general and jealous of the sexual freedom they perceive homosexuals to have, and of course the openmindedness and sexual liberation which really are necessary to be openly homosexual.

10. Must conservatives always be so ugly and irritating?
This guy looks like a common criminal or con man to me. I wouldn't trust a word he says on anything.

I am constantly amazed at the strikingly low quality of the people that conservatives put all of their faith and trust in - this guy, Limbaugh, Beck, Palin - they always go for the "cream of the crap", don't they?

18. If your neck was that incredibly thick, you'd probably be fairly pissed off.
Though of course that wouldn't make you an asshole homophobe like this creep.

14. these days, I suspect that even most conservatives know at least some gay people
there was a time within my lifetime when even most liberals were deeply bigoted against gay people. It was considered enlightened to take pity on gay people for being sick and needing treatment as opposed to dangerous criminals who belong in prison.

Not long ago someone posted this mid 1960's film, "Boys Beware" an "educational" film made for public schools to warn young people about the dangerous homosexual:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4enfUyGWSY

Times and attitudes have certainly changed. The likes of Ryan Sorba and the fascist "Young Americans for Freedom" are living in a long outdated perception of reality.
