1. Indeed!!
That is all they have! Brilliant! Champion!

Fear is a powerful tool... look around DU... it's taken hold here as well.

All the DNC need do is keep that mirror held up and reflect the GOP's sickness!

2. Yep
President Obama is moving us towards socialism! Put us back in power so we can be the ones expanding government and spending!

Fear and disaster capitalism is what they pimp most often; see the Iraq invasion, the financial market bail out, and now President Obama and the Democratic Party are pushing us towards socialism.

If folks don't buy into their fear they're impotent.

3. This takes politics to a new low -

Like who is the audience for this? Do the Democrats really think they are going to change any minds with this kind of mud slinging?

It's not like the Democrats don't have their own pots to blame for fear mongering and not getting anything done

You mean the Repugs....right? Because this ad didn't make anything up, y'know. It just showed the GOP's OWN power point presentation. Pointing out the opposition's stupidity and desperation is a "new low"?

The lowest thing here is your comprehension. Go feel sorry for the GOP shooting itself in the foot somewhere else, will ya? :eyes: Cheesus!

15. Not sharp enough
We're talking Tea Baggers here. The ad needs to hit them over the head and be very clear about how empty and pathetic the party has become. This ad is almost cute and the soft female voice is all wrong.

The Republicans think you're "reactionary" and rely on your "visceral giving", Teabags. In short, they think you're stupid and easily manipulated. They hold contempt for you.

Especially since all the Dems act scared of their own shadows.

14. .
If this was done by high school students I could be all praise, but that commercial is supposed to be from our DNC? We're gonna get creamed in November if this is in any way representative of what the current DNC is offering.

17. Thanks for posting. I don't see this stuff because I do not watch television. It's
good to know that the DNC is at least broaching the topic. My sense is that the ad could have been a LOT more aggressive.

Like the Dylan quote.

18. Stirring The Fear Pot
Has its consequences as we have seen recently in Austin and then Washington DC. Also look at the explosion in the number of hate groups sprouting up around the country. This increase in domestic terrorism is the unintended result.

Since the bu$h regime made FEAR their main event and were successful with it at first. The GOP knows nothing else.

And have you noticed those are all four letter words? I'm suprised Beck has diagramed this on his chalkboard already.

Ronny was such a fright
both west of the Dixon
very stupid to pardon Nixon
Both fell of a turnip truck
Ford hadn't the slightest clue or any luck
Ronny, alas, was an idiot fuck.
when all is said and done
Neither had the brains of a bun.

24. It's All Either Party Has Left. The Democrats Are Just As Guilty.
The only message of substance the Democrats have used for the last decade or so has been, "If you don't elect us, a Republican will get in!"

Both parties are equally morally bankrupt.

31. The guilt lies with both?
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 03:02 PM by ooglymoogly
That is just what the shadows (the men behind the curtain) want us to think. It is a pug talking point repeated in corpnews ad nauseam. The guilt in the Dem party lies with the pugs posing as Dems, (the moles, the Trojan horses) known as DINO's and blue dogs. For true Dems to the core, there is no shame nor any guilt to be laid. Confusion on this issue is the name of the game for pugs who's snake oil truly does not work; Confusion is the only cover for that fact.

33. Looking at the ad a 2nd time...
I think 1st off it didn't cost much money. It's all pretty basic animation of already existing images. All that's left is a voice over and canned music. And The emphasis is on the complete not-worth-serious-consideration caricatures and cartoon characters. The point is the "lightness" of what the GOP has to offer. The ad is also a foil for the Liz Cheney paranoia scare fest, which is getting much criticism of late.

a seemingly minor one. The quality of the voice over. I think we are better than this add. again, I am gung ho on the one liner though. Other than the one liner, the clip appears jr high to me. It is not the cheapness of making the add that makes it a success, it is cleverness that is picked up by all networks and shown free 24/7 for a few days; Otherwise buying add time can make an inexpensive add to produce, very expensive in the long run. Think "where's the beef" as the paragon, that is played to this day and has permeated our lexicon.
