cry. It's 22 years old now, and I haven't seen it for over 20 years, and with the mood I'm in right now...well, enjoy.

1. I was moved to by all the videos and the concert. But certainly by
the news reports coming from Africa.

2. Thanks for that. Made me cry too.
I was one of the many, many people who took part in the Hands Across America event. I found an interesting page - http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id312.htm .

10. Hands Across America
I took part. I happened to be in the Los Angeles area on vacation when I met up with them.

I was just showing my kids the pictures a few days ago, while trying to get them to understand the significance.

3. Not quite 14 years ago,
PBS ran an ad that showed a teacher leading his students singing that very song. I was in the hospital, recovering from a near-fatal heart attack. I quite literally sobbed the first time I watched it from my hospital bed during a difficult recovery. So beautiful with this caring teacher and those lovely children. I was an emotional mess anyway, and even cried at Coke ads, as I recall--the ones about the whole world singing. Those images are stuck in my mind and in my heart.

5. Wow, what a story. I wonder if we could do something
to convince the stars of today to do it again, this time as a peace effort.

8. Great idea!
Every word of those lyrics applies 10-fold to the world today and it would be entirely appropriate at the Democratic Convention.

The lines, "There's a choice we're making, We're saving our own lives," ring true with special urgency right now, with the global warming crisis and peak oil.

9. Thank you, thank you! That was ssoooo great!
Didn`t Michael do this song at a super bowl halftime? Unless my senior brain cells fail me , I believe he did. I have searched all over trying to find a video of it. But, it was grear, he had a bunch of kids and it sure did leave me in tears.Like this video it was right up there with all time top moments in music. It`s right up there with Bette Midler doing "Wind Beneath My Wings" after 9-1-1. Again thanks for posting! I went to you tube and put it in my favs.

13. Thank you so much...
Thank you so much, I haven't seen and heard that in years, yet I remember so vividly when it came out.
Good God, what has happened to us?
You don't have to answer --- I know...

Thank you again.
God Bless America
and God help us!
