I'm just wondering if the Administration is giving Dennis his day on this topic of the Afghan war in exchange for his support of HCR? Just a theory. Any comments would be appreciated.

Obama Has 250,000 "Contractors" in Iraq and Afghan Wars, Increases Number of Mercenaries

Overall, contractors (armed and unarmed) now make up approximately 50% of the “total force in Centcom AOR .” This means there are a whopping 242,657 contractors working on these two US wars. These statistics come from two reports just released by Gary J. Motsek, the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Program Support): “Contractor Support of U.S. Operations in USCENTCOM AOR, IRAQ, and Afghanistan and “Operational Contract Support, ‘State of the Union.’”

“We expect similar dependence on contractors in future contingency operations,” according to the contractor “State of the Union.” It notes that the deployment size of both military personnel and DoD civilians are “fixed by law,” but points out that the number of contractors is “size unfixed,” meaning there is virtually no limit (other than funds) to the number of contractors that can be deployed in the war zone.

I don't put much stock into the whole "pulling out" spin.

I fail to see how on earth people are still taking seriously the word of the same people who have forced our country to fight a useless and immoral war for the better part of 1 decade. Esp. a douche bag like Gates, you know the same asswipe who lied through his teeth during the whole Iran-Contra debacle. How quickly people forget that Robert Gates was up to the gills in the Iran-Contra fun and games during the Raygun years. It must have been all that hype and change...

Besides, this DLC White House would never dream of enabling Kucinich on the slightest. Giving that the DLC talking points have been rather nasty and vitriolic against DK for his opposition on the piece of sh*t health bill which is being rammed down our throats. The DLC does not do compromise with liberals, period. And that is because in their feeble little minds, they assume they have the liberal vote locked down.

He speaks for WE THE PEOPLE, not them, the corporations. That includes the military industrial complex that Ike warned us about!
