ABC News Nightline interview with creationist Religious Right fundie Don McLeroy ~ departing Republican member and Chair of the Texas State Board of Education (he lost his re-election to a moderate in the Republican primary earlier this month and his reappointment as Chair of the SBOE has 'ran into trouble'). Nightline details how the fundamentalist right wing agenda is influencing education across the country: "Where ever you live, your student may soon learn from his lessons..."

That mofo's only qualification is allegedly teaching Sunday School at his church.

about McCarthyism is and shrugs it off as a last minute inclusion? Sounds like he was out in the Texas sun for to long. Now what about the rest of the country deferring to these holy rollers? I don't have any idea why the rest of the country is suspending their critical thinking to this bunch?

Don't forget, Texas gave the country Ann Richards, Molly Ivins and Jim Hightower, too!

On the down side, in Texas, a "moderate Republican" is one who believes Hispanics should
be given the option of leaving the State voluntarily before being shot.

The words "Creationist" and "Education" used in the same sentence make me want to scream !

That RELIGIOUS FANATICS have a say in anyfuckingthing about anyfuckingthing at all. Separation of church and state is a sad joke in the good ole USofA and it is time to stand up to these zealots and call them out for being STUPID, BACKWARDS and a DESTRUCTIVE INFLUENCE everywhere they go. The religious right, coupled with the corporate conglomerates ARE the republican party, they don't want you educated, they don't want you to have FREEDOM in any form, they are identical to the taliban except they come packaged in jackets and ties.
