4. The corporations will not stop
until they have control of the internet. They have managed to control the large majority of printed media, TV and radio. Now they want the internet to be taken down. They cant control the message when the internet is free and flowing so something has to be done. And if recent history is any indication...they will get that control with the help of our elected government.

7. Genachowski has to roll back a 2002 FCC ruling
Edited on Wed Apr-07-10 12:28 PM by szatmar666
that said the internet is an unregulated information service. the internet should be a regulated service like phone and content providers should be banned from owning the pipes and vice versa, service providers should not be in the business of controlling content in any fashion. This would restore the 1990s climate of innovation and net neutrality. The FCC could do that tomorrow if they wanted to, no need for the courts.

If I was Genachowski, I would then sue Time Warner, ATT and Comcast if they interfere with content via "quality of service" because at that point the FCC is the regulatory authority in charge and the courts would recognize that the wire is like a phone service where no provider has the right to filter calls based on content. I'd say that's the next news we'll hear on this.

10. Scary stuff. Beckerheads are already starting to believe net neutrality is a bad thing. But maybe
a right/left coalition, like what happened in 2003 could fight this.
