Summary: Cenk talks to Jonathan Kim of ReThink Reviews about his review of the documentary 'A Crude Awakening' about how just about everything is made of and or by oil and that we may well run out sooner than we think. You can http://www.oilcrashmovie.com/|read more here>.

PS---Check out (and subscribe to) our new channel, . As the name suggests, it's all great interviews with members of Congress, Michael Moore, Arianna Huffington, Jesse Ventura, economists (William K Black, Joseph Stiglitz and Simon Johnson to name a few), Media Matters reps, various journalists, reporters and much more.

1. The asphalt on our pavement contains oil byproduct.
Plastics are derived from petroleum. So are medications and pesticides.
it is a really fun world for the Giant Oil executives and their legions of devoted workers.

A continuing query as I see no change in thinking.

7. Scary stuff. People in our govt and military must know this, yet
nothing has been done to develop and promote alternative renewable energy, let alone educate the masses.

8. It was surprising
to hear Cenk, momentarily, question Capitalism. I enjoy his reporting but his usual insistence on the benefits of Capitalism are usually unquestioned.:kick:

10. Yes, the part about Norway socializing their oil is an interesting comparison
Our paying in blood to provide a basic need is wrong on so many levels. Why indeed aren't we all profiting from our own natural resources, and doing it in a responsible way as Norway has done for their society? Why is a private British oil company profiting from our coastal oil? The entire oil industry is based on short term gain rather than a visionary plan that will provide for our energy needs in the future. If we don't make the transition to alternative energies, our future, when the oil runs out, is a bleak thought.
