Probably everything that used to live in the sand-crabs, sand fleas, conquina, etc. is either dead or dying. If the sand fleas go, what do the Pompano eat? This is just a fucking nightmare.

All of which is killed and starts to decay when the oil contaminates it.

It will be burned in to the locals in a year or 2 when the fisheries utterly collapse, because of all the young fish being destroyed at the moment. In on or two years, there will be no adult fish to replace the ones that die, due tothe die off occurring right now.

This happened in Alaska after the Exxon Valdez, and they did not expect the fiheries to utterly collapse two years after the fact.

In alaska, they steam cleaned the rocks, and wiped out every living creature that was able to survive the slick.

As far as the wetlands, they will do more damage by walking on it than by just giving the wetlands the 50 to 100 years it needs to breakdown the oils and distribute it into the ecosystem. The Ecosystem is already fucked beyond repair, there is no way for humans to remediate it without making it worse than it already is.

And it's just began to come ashore.
