Excerpts from a talk given in Detroit at the U.S. Social Forum.

"This is about non-cooperation....It is time for us to understand not to cooperate. We need to recognize the way we cooperate even in our rebellion.

There is an Industrial Ruling Class on this planet - they own Democracy, they own Socialism, they own Fascism, they own Communism....they have us wondering which vampire is the best?"

"It's a long, long river
and a longer swim.
Reality is in how you swim
not in how you win."

- Trudell

1. Agree -- and we should be discussing means of ....
Edited on Wed Jul-07-10 11:27 PM by defendandprotect
non-cooperation here with this corporate fascism --

First -- all Americans have to begin to UNITE --

Can we really imagine that Senior Citizens have never united?

Except via AARP which is an insurance company!

Can we really imagine that some are only now beginning to UNITE the unemployed!!

and Good for Them!! About time!!

Democrats certainly didn't call out any of their supporters to demonstrate for anything --

but the GOP not only called their supporters out -- they invented and paid for them!!

We could have rallied for MEDICARE FOR ALL!

Somehow Democrats seem to be getting the idea that if they do come out without some

Democratic Party protection they could be subject to some harassment? Things like

"Free Speech Zones" -- which don't seem to effect right wingers!?

Eh . . . right wingers who even bring their guns to political gatherings!

Meanwhile, there are many ways to begin to disconnect and fight back against corporate

fascism --

Every day, most of us go out into the world with credit cards -- even though we may be

paying them off at the end of the month or giving automatic connection to funds in our

checking account, these cards enrich corporations -- banks and credit card companies.

They sit back and we run around earning money for them --

PLUS -- all of this activity -- i.e., 7.5% charges by American Express and 3.75% by other

credit cards -- adds a great deal of non-productive expense to the costs of all our purchases.

Americans have never been political -- begin to talk with one another -- gently at first because

right wing propaganda really works! Not just to your families -- but everyone you see every

day --

I'd also suggest that we should be wearing buttons -- like "END THE WARS" --

"MEDICARE FOR ALL" -- "PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY" -- on and on --

Something small -- I frequently thought in the days of our 2000 election and W regime that

we should have all been wearing US FLAG STAMPS upside down on our clothing. Subtle!

So much has been corrupted by elites/corporates that every level of government is effected now --

including our local governments --

Still there are many ways to unite in actions --

Turning off electricity at agreed upon times in an evening -- for an hour --

Pulling your car off the road for 5 or 10 minutes at an agreed upon time --

Not using credit cards for one day ---

Not shopping for one day --

Everyone is LABOR -- you don't have to be in a union to be labor --

We can strike -- but it should begin with something reasonable --

A two hour strike -- on an arranged day -- 1 pm to 3 pm ?

Needless to say, every day in some way we should be petitioning government officials

re some issue -- extending unemployment benefits -- whatever.

Housing for the homeless -- permanent housing which seems to be barred in some cities/towns?

We can't save public education by leaving it up to the teachers -- for instance!

And I'm sure that many here have lots of ideas on how to begin to bring the American

public together --

Oh, yeah ...

and maybe we need to begin to ask our elected officials and candidates to sign PLEDGES???

3. Wow! Thank you so much too! This is great stuff. I agree we should organize in NON VERBAL ways
collectively sending them to the bathroom to do their
business.

Can we start stuff here? Do we have a following here?

5. You know . . .
the idea about electricity comes from Australia, I think --

they were using it to push for action on environment, as I recall it --

But it's always seemed something of a non-plus to me to repeatedly go to DC

on a Saturday when no one is there!

I've begun to speak of some of these ideas here -- pass them on and let's see what

happens -- but certainly this is the kind of stuff we should be speaking about ...

person to person.

Americans have to begin to discuss politics --

Politics effects your life every moment of your life --

and some say "Politics is the shadow cast over government by corporations" --

A few others have commented positively on these ideas --

pass them on -- add some ideas of your own!

Great ideas, defendandprotect ~ we should all speak up with heart.

2. I love this! Mr. Trudell, we got something for you to enjoy and if you like, pass on.

Thank you for passing your knowledge and wisdom to the people within our republic who desperately need to learn this and get themselves back, spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually from the corruption that has taken over everything as you say. They are gluttonous and careless now. Seems there are no real gentlemen left to provide the infrastructural platforms that give us back our civil education with knowledge of our hard earned rights and privileges.

We need to be training ourselves in what we forgot so we can hand it back, in a responsible modern way, to our children.

May Go-pod honor and keep you!

We got a song and a couple of websites to help your cause.
Hope you see this and take the time to drop by.

From our record label:
(ps: our music director reviewed one of your records in Puncture, way back when)....

Daddy Auction

Google us!.

Ear Candle Productions

And this site has some great tools from our era:

Noodle Brain Productions (my baby)

especially this one is good:

Vern Black's "Integrity Tone Scale" NBP Style

Thank you for your time and attention, and for sharing your insight and your platform..
For reaching others.

You are an inspiration.
Keep it up! Let us know when you are in San Francisco and we'll video tape your event and upload to youtube. com
if we can get it on the schedule in advance.

Good Luck.

4. They also "own" organized crime . . .
and that includes the Drug War --

because organized crime certainly doesn't exist without the assistance of some

part of our government and elected officials -- without corrupted police enforcement --

without corrupted government agencies . . .

Like Nixon, they always need things done that require "black bag" jobs --

Thanks for this video -- love the move from voting for the "lesser of evils" to voting

for the "best Vampire" -- !!

Didn't catch what he was saying about religion -- will try to watch again tomorrow --

The right wing has been working on overturning the Constitutiton and democracy since day one --

and on overturning the New Deal for 60 or 70 years!

John Kennedy said that a long time ago -- you can't rest, the right wing will always be

there to take us backwards.

And, I think that's a little bit of what happened in the 1960's --

there were some victories and the left went home to live their lives --

But the right wing began to throw even more wealth into buying and paying for supporters --

GOP gave start up funding for the Christian Coalition -- Richard Scaife financed Dobson's

organization -- other rw wealthy financed Bauer's organization.

On and on -- BELIEVE what Cheney tells us about the right wing creating the "reality."

Also agree that no violent revolution will ever totally succeed --

It has to be peaceful resistance and only peaceful resistance --

In fact, the only way the right wing can rise and has risen is by political violence --

and we've been suffering overt rw political violence over the last 50+ years!

As William L. Shirer, author of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, put it in speaking of the excesses of the Nixon administration, "We could become the first country to go fascist through free elections."

And, I'm always amazed at the success of the right wing propaganda that "Watergate was nothing -

just a third rate burglary" -- !!!

Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviania of the Holy See, who arranged Mussolini's 1929 "donation" of $89 million to the Vatican to ensure its neutrality with Mussolini and Hitler. The money went into a special fund in the Vatican Bank, and after the war part of it was entrusted to "God's Banker" Michele Sindona for investment. Sindona channeled a good chunk of it to the Nixon campaign.

And, would just add this on the revolution of the 1960's which the right wing dubbed

"The Sexual Revolution" . . .

"I realized that in this country we had a revolution--of housing, food, hair style, clothing, cosmetics, transportation, value systems, religion--it was an economic revolution, affecting the cosmetics industry, canned foods, the use of land; people were delivering their own babies, recycling old clothes, withdrawing from spectator sports. They were breaking the barriers where white and black could rap in 1967. This was the year of the Beatles, the summer of Sergeant Pepper, the Monterey Pop Festival, Haight-Ashbury, make your own candle and turn off the electricity, turn on with your friends and laugh--that's what life was all about."

Mae Brussel is immensely interesting on many other facets of the right wing takeover --

6. This is so cracking me up.
I saw the wonderful vision of Saint Louis Black Saturday night in "Stark raving Black" and now I see Saint Jon Trudell, and they' re saying the same thing.

One is a Jewish comedian, ex playwright from the East Coast, and the other is a Native American poet from the Dakotas who had his life torn apart when the fascists burned his house down and killed his young wife and lil kids. And despite their differences, they both have the wisdom and the insight to pull at the fabric the Upper Elite has woven to cloak our clear visions of what is going on.

7. Nice post . . .
Almost everyone knows something is very wrong --

they may not know exactly what -- stuff like this helps, however --

This is the kind of wisdom and humanity we need in the White House --

I'd take either one of them in 2012 -- !!

9. Yes, almost everyone
now knows something is very wrong. It was becoming more clear from 2000 to 2008 and now even more so. Something is very wrong, that is for damn sure.

10. Hope is the Evil that Lies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcGCCccvYRM&feature=related - Pandora's Box

"Hoping is like waiting to be served........Obviously there is no political solution. Look how long politics have been around, and the situation just continues to get worse and worse. We’ve seen it evolve in our lifetime. You know, from the sixties when everybody was rebelling against the injustice and stuff, and here it is now forty years later and the injustice is just as bad as it ever was. So, obviously, there’s no political solution. I think that the solution will come about when we as human beings begin taking responsibility to use our creative intelligence."

14. or as Joe Bageant said....
I have come to think the price of admission anywhere in the world, (except in America and Europe, where enough dough will get your ass kissed in any circles) is service to others. We have been indoctrinated by an earth devouring capitalist system to believe otherwise. Believe that giving only depletes. And that mankind and civilization came about through kings and warriors and "great men." But the essential glue of man the social animal has always been on cooperation and sharing. That an endless stream of elite thieves have always managed to steal the fruits of that cooperation does not matter. And the best that is in man still rests on the same fundamentals -- cooperation for the greater good of all.

So I would suggest that in planning for the future, you first spend many days pondering the question: How can I best go about giving up the world as I have known it -- which, after all, is the root of our pain and of our catastrophe -- and serve others every day and in as many ways large and small as possible. In other words, sacrifice. In truth, the sacrifice will not be sacrifice, but liberation, because Americans are buried under so much material shit and petty notions as to entitlement, that shedding such things is a blessing. A gift.

AND

The big problem at the moment though, for us as sentient beings, is:

What to do when I get out of bed each day? Give money to the Democrats? Move out of the country? Stay and fight the bastards?

Throwing money at frauds and fools doesn't work. Moving to Mexico or Canada takes money in a time when money and jobs are scarce everywhere. As for staying and fighting, really fighting, there is not one person reading this who is going to go strangle the sleazy fucks having martinis on Wall Street with their pet Senator. Nobody reading this is going to instill genuine physical fear, which is the only thing such lizards might respond to. We are left to work within the system, as per the hologram's directive. Their system. Ha!

The answer, to me at least, is to do the most obvious thing first. And I do mean obvious in the most mundane sense. Like fixing breakfast with all the contemplative awareness possible. Seriously. The tiniest right action, the action in complete unself-conscious natural awareness, connects to all the rightness in the universe. And the universe is always right. Because it owns all of our asses, plus black holes, and those teensy pinholes in time that physicist say make you an immediate neighbor of Shakespeare and mastodons -- only you don't know it. It owns the molecules of the ages. Everything.

This proposition is unappealing to Americans and just about everyone else in the western world. To be perfectly honest, a big screen TV, the Internet, and tickets to a Rams game are more accessible and immediately gratifying. Right action in the moment does not light up your neural pleasure centers like cheap sex or jalapeno Doritos.
