During Washington's July 4th vacation, 1.7 million more people lost all UI benefits due to Capitol Hill's lack of the ability to get anything done. This does not include the over 4 million Americans who have exhausted all Tiers of benefits early this year, known as the 99ers. People are starting to take to the streets and object to this cavalier treatment by the Senate. Some held a rally to get Washington's attention right outside of Senator Mitch McConnell's office Wednesday July 7th. Protesters cheered as cars rolled by and honked, and for them, the more honks the better. They want their message heard loud and clear: "Can you hear us Senator McConnell? Can you hear us?" they chant.

1. Why are they using the unemployed as pawns?
Because it would be illegal to use them to try to plug up Deepwater Horizon.

3. I have a problem with this phrasing...
"Capitol Hill's lack of the ability to get anything done" There's a sector of "Capitol Hill" that was ready and willing to extend these benefits. Then there are the GOP senators. THEY have the lack of ability to get ANYTHING done that benefits the common man. I only hope the 1.7 million that are left hanging, remember this in November. It's the GOPs fault that we're IN this mess, and all they want to do is perpetuate it.
