This is the centre section of the whole film "The revolution will not be televised" which can be viewed here in its entirety : http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5832390545689805144&q=the+revolution+will+not+be+televised&total=158&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0

The important section to watch in this youtube clip is the bit that starts just after 3 minutes into it. It shows how careful editing conveyed a completely distorted picture of what actully occured when the protestors were shot.

That section is also repeated in John Pilger's new film The War Against Democracy which also includes a CNN reporter stating that the declaration by one of the coup instigators about Chavez having protestors shot was actually filmed 10 hours before the event.

2. It's a clip from the film of the same name

see here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Revolution_Will_Not_Be_Televised_(documentary)

It was purely coincidental that an Irish film crew were there when the coup took place. You can watch the whole link film in the link I provided. The Irish guys do the narration all the way through. I only found this film by accident yesterday.

I think the title may have refered to selective broadcasts by the privately owned media on the subject - so what's new ?

Never mind anyway - the more attention both films get the better.

edit- when I was searching today just to see it any of The Revolution... was on youtube I across a whole bundle of removed vidoes. I thnk they might just have been yours. I then searched way down the list and found the section that had the shooters which was still intact - youtube hadn't noticed. There are issues about distribution of the film.

6. Yes. and maybe as you said- the more it is out there the more
impact this view may have. So many twists on the truth.

One thing that struck me after watching this is that their democracy is not pretty but it has a clear beauty, while ours is superficially pretty but there is no heartfelt beauty in this shame of *'s democracy.

7. I think you'd enjoy Pilger's film The War Against Democracy
will take a while to download but it's worth the wait. What struck me the most was that the majority of Venezuelans are poor in terms of money but happy because they've got free healthcare and even the old folk are now becoming literate by going to school - something they were probably denied in the past.

I concluded from both films that the days of the corporates having their way in both Central and South American countries are dead and gone forever - their populations won't tolerate that again.

Cheers anyway.
