lets see, Lester Maddox was a democrat, fact not fiction.
George Wallace was a democrat, fact not fiction.
More Republicans Voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Then the democrats did, not to mention the civil rights acts
of 1957 and 1960-facts not propaganda.

- He appointed more African Americans to state government positions than any other governor before him.
- Appointed the first African American to head a state department (the Board of Corrections).
- Named the first black GBI agent.
- Named the first black state trooper.
- Ordered state troopers to desist from using the word "n****r", and to address African-Americans using "Mr." instead of by their first name.
