speaks the truth.It never ceases to amaze me just how ignorant the American people are about the way we treat the rest of the world.A lot of people hate the U.S. and unfortunately I can not blame them.

because our mass media is corporate controlled, and they control the message.

The mass media makes sure the information doesn't get disseminated.

The mass media makes sure that the information is condemned as trivial, and conspiracy theory, and only important to the supposed lunatic fringe.

The mass media makes sure that the public is distracted with infotainment and the distractions of the day in every news cycle, so that real information can't gain any traction.

Blaming the public is, I think, missing the point entirely. If we had real a journalism industry, with real news outlets, presenting real information to the public every day telling the public that it was out duty to be informed then the public would be informed. People would want to be informed.

Unfortunately, constant repetition of messages in mass media works. PR and propaganda works. People's attitudes and beliefs can be shaped and influenced, and to a large extent controlled. The Ad and PR industries have proven this.

It would be wonderful if more people searched for the real information and found it and took the time to read and digest what is available. But people won't search for something if they don't know it's there to search for. They won't search for something if they don't know there is a reason to search or it. And that isn't their fault either.

So don't blame the victims. Blame the real culprits responsible for bombarding people with the false messages and the lack of real information. Blame Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, The NYTimes, The Washington Post, and every other media outlet out there that participates in burying the real news. :(

How many here on DU are sheeple now?

some people you tell them what is going on and they tell you its the end times so do nothing or they tell you "Those people are going to do what they want to do" and I tell them they are doing it because you are doing nothing voting,etc..

I tell them they are doing it because we need to kick their asses!and they need to know who their bosses are and who really has the power.


Sometimes, they talk so ridiculously that I have to walk away because of the stupidity I hear coming out of their mouths..

since 1945, we have been on the wrong side.
We have not been a force for anything good in our wars.
So when will we break the habit?

I'm still waiting for the emergence of counter-markets, a black market that exists outside of corporate America.
I'm still waiting for people to say that they're not going to wait for the plutocrats to start investing in America again.
Our passivity is their license.

and they will continue to do so.
