2. Thanks Ihavenobias!
I do have a bias, and Ken Mehlman did so much hurtful damage I still think he's a POS.

I will always think he's a POS, but that's just me. After all he went along with having a damaging amendment to the gay community in my state ('06) put on the ballot as a wedge issue. I suppose I should be glad that he's feeling good right now, but I'm not.

His bullshit has hurt too many people. :puke:

3. He doesn't get it.
Mehlmann admitted that he participated in scapegoating gay people during the time he served as B*sh's campaign head...but then when he was asked why any gay person would vote republican:

"He often wondered why gay voters never formed common cause with Republican opponents of Islamic jihad, which he called “the greatest anti-gay force in the world right now.”

So he admits he scapegoated gay people, but thinks gay folks should vote republican now because republicans have decided to scapegoat Muslims in 2010. Mehlman is a bag of vomit.

5. There is a very important lesson here. Mehlman helped the Republicans use gay rights for political
gain. It wasnt personal, it wasnt ideological, it was purely political. Karl Rove didnt care if Mehlman is gay, Cheney didnt care if Mehlman was gay, those and others most likely dont care a hoot about gay rights. But they saw it as a tool to use for political gain.

Mehlman understood that bashing gays would help Republicans politically, so he went with it. The ends justify the means.

The bottom line is Mehlman is lower than the lowest homophobe IMO.

6. You're absolutely right
And to take this a couple steps further...

Newt doesn't care about any Islamic community center and neither does Sarah. They don't care about immigrants or borders. These are all just cynical tactics.

7. Not that it really matters
but I really believe Rove is gay also. I don't understand these people. Is it like wearing a wool shirt to atone for someones idea of a sin?
How anyone can twist their scripture of any religion, around to say that homosexuality is a mortal sin and then ignore that in all religions greed and prejudice are blatant mortal sins, is demented.
Religion is supposed to be a guideline for a harmonious and just life.
Instead, it is used to give people an excuse for their terrible views.

8. But it does matter. People like Rove and Mehlman dont believe homosexuality is a sin.
They dont necessarily think Christianity is the greatest or that immigrants are a danger to our society. Mehlman is a good example. They believe the ends justifies the means. They will use hate against any group to their ends. Has nothing to do with their personal beliefs.

10. I feel the same way about Mehlman as I did about Haggard.
Just another damn liar who's willing to sell out his own in order to make a buck. And then go on this epiphany BS.

11. I dont. Haggard was a tool used by the con's. Mehlman was one of the con's.
Taggard is a blundering fool, while Mehlman is a conniving asshole like Rove.
