1. Problem with Cenk's argument...
is that Bush lied to get people to back him on his legislation and actions (e.g., Iraq war). But I do agree that Obama and the Dems did not defend themselves enough in the public nor did they attack the repubs for their bad policies until it was too late in the game.

I am still waiting for Cenk and others who say that Obama did not go far enough on legislation to explain to me how was it that he was supposed to go further when he had to deal with a SAY NO PARTY and DINOs. Can you say FILLUBUSTER?

3. Republicans have to lie.
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 11:30 PM by SharksBreath
If they had facts they wouldn't be republicans.

Just like Cenk said. The republicans talked about reckless spending everyday until the American people believed it.

They repeat their lies so much that they actually believe they are facts.

The GOP wasted more on the Iraq war for Muslims which they hate than Obama has spent trying to rescue the country from their mistakes.

I would have hammered that home during the entire stimulus debate.

3 trillion for Iraq. No problem.

I'm spending 3 trillion to save our own country. America.

How could they say. Hell No.

It's all how you frame it for the retards in this country.

Your with us or against us. Unfortunately it works. Republicans know how to do this.

When I finished with the GOP they would be known as the Surplus to stimulus party.

When they came we had a surplus when they left we needed a stimulus. They wouldn't dare talk down about the stimulus because America would have known if they didn't bankrupt the country we would have never needed a stimulus.

They shouldn't have been allowed to open their mouths about spending. Every time they did I would ask them what did they do with the 13 trillion they stole from the treasury. The investigations on what they did with the money they stole would put it on the front page everyday.

Despite not refuting the lies the second biggest mistake Obama was made was not prosecuting Bush.

If I was president I would have had Bush and Cheney arrested right after I was inaugurated.

Literally. Right at the Inauguration.

Wheel chair Cheney's ass straight to jail.

10. AMEN!! The Repubs would have hit 0% approval rating very quickly.
Take some bill like childhood lunches, one of the 300 bills the House passed and try to ram it through. If they filibustered, let em do it. Then, every day have a news conference and point at what the Repubs are doing, what they are filibustering.

Not rocket science.

5. Here is the part of the argument that you missed (maybe you didn't listen
to the end). Obama did not use his bully pulpit well because he is obsessed with being above it all.

I agree with Cenk.

2. Two big reasons,
Two big reasons, an inside the beltway rw narrative, "conventional wisdom", memes, and daily brainwashing on teevee "news".

The other the big money from foreign corporations that paid for rethug ads that ran heavily right before the election.

In other words they cheat, as they always do.

BTW stop calling them "grand", do like I do and boycott the acronym, gop.

6. The daily brainwashings didn't occur just on tv.
They have created massive fleets of useful idiots out there.

7. Cenk is right--
Obama should have been on this waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before 2 months ago.

The right wing news machine started on this failure meme the day after he was elected. Remember what they were saying minutes after that man won? "This country is a center-right country", even though he won in a landslide--nothing close to center right. But no one in his administration challenged that. Barely anyone in the MSM challenged that assertion.

There is no way Obama should have let anyone get away with trying to pin the economic bail out shit on him because that was bush's doing. The unemployment problem is a direct result of rethuglcan policies. The deficit is a result of rethuglican policies. Iraq and Afghanistan are the result of rethuglican policies. But Obama embraced all of that shit and doubled down on pretty much a lot of it. The decisions his administration and his justice department have made are incredible with regards to the prosecution of all of those who put this country right where it finds itself.
