1. Thanks for the video!
It's definitely worth hearing in its entirety. In context, Moore's comment isn't offensive. To make too much of it would be to overlook the intelligent interchanges which took place. Nora Ephron was interesting. :)

2. Actualy it is offensive. And I am a Republican. The President does need to get the gloves off and
grab a hold of history and save us all from the greedy bastards calling themselves conservatives and lemming robots called teabaggers. These "conservatives" could not have won without Democrats votes or staying home. Progressives can win out od this at least for the next two months and again in the next congressionals.

8. Confused: Why are you still a Republican if...
-- you insist on calling members of the Tea Party "teabaggers" and are rooting for the Progressives to win in the next Congressional election?

If your sympathies are really with us (ie, the Progressives) and it sounds as if they are, then why are you aligning yourself with a party that represents everything we oppose?

9. Because being Republican doesn't mean one's not progressive, that
teabaggers sure as hell aren't GOP, that being "conservative" doesn't mean being GOP or being conservative for that matter, that electing some of worst of the neo-cons and tea baggers took a lot of Democrats voting Libertarian, GOP, Tea Party and meant a lot of Democrats sat at home on thier hands. I support President Obama.

10. I am starting to understand (I think)... but please continue to help me here...

By putting quotes around the word conservative I assume you feel that many folks who call themselves Conservative really aren't. In other words, you feel many of the people who call themselves that are POSERS, right?

You also say that being "conservative" doesn't necessarily mean being Conservative.

And that being a Republican doesn't necessarily mean one is not Progressive.

It's still just a wee bit confusing.

All of which begs the question of what, in your mind, characterizes a REAL Republican?

How are your politics so different from, say, my own? (I guess I'd be considered your typical Liberal Democrat -- for better or worse, LOL!)

12. Not posers, wolves in soft fleece. "Conservative" has come to mean "I got mine, fuck you", and "you
need to be responsible, by the way as long as you're up go fight that war I have stock in." These aren't conservative drives, and they are not Republican.

The Congressman from Maryland(R)who got upset because his health care was going to lag a month after he was elected to "end Obama-care" is a prime example. Joe Miller in Alaska is an epitome of what is wrong with self described Republicans who can not write a list of five Republican principles beyond 'states rights'. Ask them what state's rights really means and you get Palin and O'Donnell double talk and babble.

Sometime Republican and Democratic party interests overlap at exactly where Teabaggers and 'Conservatives' are the most destructive. Most real small business owners and most large industry companies realize national health care is important and helps conserve valuable assets: healthy workers and a healthy market. And what is allowed to call itself a small business needs to be redefined. the Kohl brothers are NOT a small business by any stretch of the imagination, regardless of how clueless teabaggers are. I should also point out that the last really big initiative for national health care was a proposal by Richard Nixon that went miles further than President Obama's plan and that Sen Kennedy was one of Nixon's main point man for it in the Senate.

We can argue about the Monroe doctrine, but we can agree that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq do not progress a Republican principle let alone an American one. Or especially a democratic one (or, I suspect a Democrat one), either.

We can agree to disagree about some issues but the ones we can agree about as progressive require some co-operation. This last dismal election cycle needed Democrat voter's complicity to some degree. We all need to reach out and do what Americans do best: reach consensus and act in unity.

3. Democrats who think the pink tu tu comment is a big deal
are why the Democratic party loses in the tenacity department, over, and over, and over.

Moore knows how to communicate with the blue collar America that the Republicans and Blue Dogs have sold down the river.
