Always great to hear from Congressman Alan Grayson. He explains what voters expect from the democrats.

2. Unfortunately, with talk about his own obituary, it looks like he's out for 2012.

Some on DU have been saying he should run in the 2012 Democratic primaries. Looks like it's not going to happen.

10. He was only referring to how the talking head introduced him
I didn't get any hint that he was bowing out of anything from that.

3. Compromise? Tax cuts for rich $700 billion+ and unemployement benefits $32 billion -- !!!
Edited on Thu Jan-06-11 06:22 AM by defendandprotect
in fact, tax cuts cost more like $800 billion cause we have to borrow the money!!

We're now paying $1 BILLION a day in interest on the debt!!

Benefits for the unemployed -- $32 billion?

And, in fact, why not increase corporate taxes to more properly cover

unemployment benefits? After all, this corporate crime wave is responsible

for the unemployment!!

That's not a "compromise" -- it's a swindle --

Did Obama permit himself to get swindled in this deal - ???

Or did he permit the American public to get swindled in this deal -- ???

Either way, not a good sign for Obama continuing on in 2012!!

6. The tax cuts for the wealthy and estate tax change cost about $133B, not $700B
Where did you get that number?

9. You're confyusing the ten year cost of the original with the two year cost of the compromise
If you're going to compare apples and apples, you can't measure 10 years worth of an item and 2 of another. Your statement below did just that.

"Compromise? Tax cuts for rich $700 billion+ and unemployement benefits $32 billion -- !!!"

It also ignores the other elements of the recent $900B compromise.
