3. it is political
The govt procures, approves and recommends all the vaccines we use in this country. And seriously, if government is involved in it, it is political. Also if anything else, a fight against the big pharma corporations pushing these vaccines which could be causing autism is in out interest.

Note: I am not in any way arguing against all vaccines, it just that there should be more transparency regarding its side effects instead of the witch hunting that comes the way of anybody who questions the safety of them

2. It's extremely political
This is the research that some people look to as a basis for not vaccinating their children. In response, other parents are up in arms because those unvaccinated children (read: unclean!) might spread disease. Then there are those who are calling the refusal to vaccinate a form of child neglect or abuse.

This is what happens when politics gets ahold of science. The tar is heated, the torches lit, the pitchforks sharpened and nobody on either side understands the first thing about science.

4. I trust Dr Wakefield in this
Edited on Thu Jan-06-11 11:16 AM by subsuelo
I think the situation is exactly as he describes:

"this is part of a systematic process to prevent valid vaccine research"

That I think he is exactly correct on that point. I do not trust the British Medical Journal or the Big Pharma industry, and I think Anderson Cooper is a classic MSM joke of a journalist. How people can stand the garbage on CNN, I do not know.

6. agree.
People are very quick to trust "experts" rather than their
own instincts & common sense when it comes to health.

Vaccines may contribute; other environmental & dietary factors
for sure.

It's not that hard to get a slew of "experts" and "exhaustive
studies" to back up the claims of the incredibly wealthy
pharmaceutical industry, when fear is involved.

I thought AC was shameful in his interrogation.

7. A real journalist would at least let Wakefield give his side of things
Anderson very clearly has made a judgment on the matter, and is blind to even the suggestion that corporate Big Pharma may be involved in the smear campaign that Wakefield describes.

Which is exactly why he's CNN's wonderboy, isn't it? Can't allow someone to be on that questions Big Pharma, can we.
