1. They had been telling people for 2 days before
not to take lake shore drive. That there would be 25 foot waves and extreme blowing. As far as I'm concerned anyone who didn't head the warning deserved to get snowed in.*

*I am probably only saying this because no body died, if someone had froze to death I'd feel bad.

3. I wonder why they bothered to leave it open for so long.
I was impressed that Gov Quinn thought ahead and had the national guard ready. Yes, I know it took some people 10 hours to get off LSD but it could have been much much worse.

they plow and it drifts right over.

the most interesting thing about this storm was the constant easterly winds during the storm. out here we usually get those on the back side of the storm.

7. I would take a BLIZZARD over
Both LA (Lived there) & TEXAS (Lived there too) & over Georgia where I currently live. LOL!

I hate winters in the south 33 degrees & raining...Hardly ever snows. I know I know once you live in a place that gets hammered by snow storm after snow storm you get tired of it...BS. I would take snow over 33 & raining anyday. I think! LOL!

9. As someone currently in LA (originally from Chicago)...
Chicago from November-April? No thanks. But May-October, it's the best.

And look, it's not just living through a brief blizzard. It's living with months of terrible weather. Not just temps, not just scraping ice off your windshield in the morning when it's still dark outside (and hoping your car starts and or that your windows will defrost at some point so you don't have to drive through a peephole), but also day after day after day of that gross, gray sky. Not interesting storm clouds, just that lifeless light gray that matches the lack of green/plant/animal life.

I get depressed just thinking about it. Now if you'll excuse me it's time to get back to 65 and sunny, but yes, I'll miss deep dish pizza badly this Sunday especially.

PS---Ideally I'd move LA weather to Chicago.

11. I rarely have to be concerned about defrosting problem her in NE Indiana.
Of course, I have my car in the garage overnite too. Makes a big difference.

12. When they expect another storm anywheres near this
they should broadcast this video or maybe better if they can find one so the can remind the motorists.
