2. i know Anderson and others always risk their lives when reporting in different places

but this is the first time i really feel scared about them. even compared to when they were reporting from places like iraq and AFghanistan.

OTOH, Mubarak knows well that the death of a Western or European journalist will not help him.

I'm holding out hope that the thugs have been given the smarter game plan of intimidation without killing. Otherwise everyone loses.

7. My point was that it may not be as 'random' as it appears.

They have specific orders. My HOPE is that those orders do not include anything as stupid as killing journalists of any stripe.

That 'hope' is based on the concurrent 'hope' that Mubarak knows better than to issue such orders under international scrutiny.

Let's just hope.
