2. Alyona made a good point. It is too soon to applaud the protestors.
Their movement is heartfelt and in that sense inspiring. But we have no idea how the whole thing will turn out. The French and Russian Revolutions are two examples of revolutions that ultimately lead to a lot of instability and even dictatorships.

is not premature to applaud a group of brave people willing to risk their lives to have freedom from tyranny. Should they have waited for a more opportune time, like when Mubarak retired and the United States installed Suleiman as the new dictator? I find your post appalling. No reply necessary.

5. I just heard something new about Suleiman that was rather positive.
It seems that he was the head of military intelligence and charged with investigating and stopping the Muslim extremists.

It would be very dangerous for the Egyptian people and possibly the world if a new government came into Egypt only to be weakened and harassed by extremists from one direction or the other -- and the Muslim extremists would be the most likely problem.

So maybe that is why Obama supports Suleiman. We should try to find out as much about him as possible so that we can form our opinions about what to expect. Not that we should or would want to have any influence, but just so that we are informed.

6. At this point, we should be mere observers, who will respectively
follow the Egyptian peoples desires--regardless of OUR forecast of the outcome. We have started two unnecessary wars, are stone broke from banker theft, and have a Fascist Party in charge of the House. I think our counsel may be unwelcome at this point. No offense, JD.

7. Good points, decidedly so, although I stand by what I said as an observation.
It won't be our decision in any case. But we can be informed about what is going on.
