1. I didn't need Rachel to inform me that Boehner is bad at his job.
He's just an all-around, womanizing, boozing doofus.

First, I question if he knows what he's talking about most of the time. Recently, he was grandstanding in introducing one of the anti-abortion bills introduced in the House by proclaiming that the bill would not allow federal dollars to pay for abortions. The head of Planned Parenthood noted that federal money hasn't paid for abortions in over 30 years.

Second, he doesn't know the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. Again, he exposed his ignorance on that while grandstanding in a public forum. Claims he carries it with him in his jacket every day. Yeah, right. Again, he just says anything if he thinks it makes him look studly.

And then, there's the issue of his bawling at the drop of a hat. Geez, when a former First Lady in your own political party mocks you on TV, you know you're really a butt end of jokes.

2. Here's why Boehner is as successful as he is foolish
This isn't a criticism of Rachel's segment, above. She did a swell job of saying "the emperor has no clothes" and diligently calling out the body parts she could see. I applaud her thoroughness.

But here's the deal: If you are playing defense, all you have to do is to block what the other side is trying to do. It doesn't matter whether you planned to block a play, or if you just blunder into the path of an offensive run: the play still ends with no gains for the other side.

So: If you are somebody who likes the status quo; you just need to play defense. You don't have to try anything positive on your own. The status quo continues. To the fans in the stands, the other side starts to look very bad for failing to improve things.

In Boehner's case, it doesn't matter whether he opposes legislation, or merely fails to pass his own. Failing is as good as opposing. Being a drunken fool is the same as being a merciless, unrelenting tool of the Devil. It all works out the same.

sc

I hope Rachel reads this. I'd LOVE to see her respond to this on her show.
