Cenk Uygur breaks down an MSNBC clip where Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell tries (and fails) to refute the claim that Pfc Bradley Manning (being held on charges related to WikiLeaks/Julian Assange) is being treated inhumanely in solitary confinement.

2. Geoff Morrell is pathetic and an embarrassment to our country. The longer this goes on the better
Manning looks and the worse our government looks.

It would be nice if that other perpetual embarrassment, our media, would spend more time on this story and less on Charlie Sheen.

3. President Barak Obama, the CIC of the military, is ultimately responsible
for this travesty. He could make it stop, but he chooses not to.

That he is willing to deprive individuals of their human rights is unforgivable. He will never again get my vote.

4. Glad to see Cenk join the sadly few voices speaking out
against this travesty. So far, I have not found any member of Congress other than Dennis Kucinich who has had the decency, the courage, the morality to demand that this be stopped.

Thanks to the few voices who are speaking out. Glenn Greenwald, Dennis Kucinich, Amnesty Int., Cenk, Jane Hamsher .... I know there must be more that I am not aware of. This IS a democracy which has laws against this kind of thing, isn't it?

I could not be more disappointed than I am in this administration. They are being exposed each day now as at least equally as bad the previous administration on matters of human rights. I had such hope when this president was elected

5. Pfc. Bradley Manning Charged w/ Capitol Offense
The US Army has announced they're filing twenty-two additional charges against Bradley Manning, who is accused of leaking thousands of documents to WikiLeaks. And the most serious charge is "aiding the enemy," which is a capital offense but who exactly is the enemy that Manning is accused of aiding? Is Wikileaks now an enemy of the US? Jane Hamsher founder of Firedoglake.com discusses.

11. The meme that Manning released information to the enemy
is a distraction - the enemy already knows that we are bombing the shit out of them and that we are firing on civilians - mostly women and children....The Defense Department doesn't want the US public seeing their dirty laundry.

12. They mean that the press is the enemy.
And it is, when you have so much to hide. For a long time, the U.S. was able to control the media, not just here but internationally.

Hillary Clinton has now realized that they U.S. has lost the information war and is asking for funding so that the U.S. can do a better job of capapulting 'our message' whatever that is.

What she fails to understand is that the information war is lost because people are not buying propaganda anymore, not when there are now real News Organizations across the globe, like Wikileaks and Al Jazeera and RT and numerous other independent journalists all reporting ACTUAL NEWS.

As Danny Schechter pointed out after Clinton's plea for more funding to proivde better propaganda, it is the Corporatization of U.S. 'News' that made Wikileaks and Al Jazeera and others absolutely necessary.

The press, any real news organization is only our enemy because the U.S. has told so many lies to its own people and now those lies are being exposed.

If you don't want to lose the respect of the world, don't negotiate with terrorists while pretending to be fighting a WOT. Don't back dictators while criticizing others for human rights abuses.

Don't refuse to hold U.S. war criminals accountable, they left too many victims scattered around the globe who want justice and will not give up until they get it.

Stop doing things that you know are so wrong you absolutely have to try to prevent them from being revealed.

No one is fooled anymore, no one believes U.S. propaganda.

Too bad Hillary's only concern was that the truth being told, was interfering with 'our message'. How could that happen if our message was the truth?
