Reagan's advisors were masterful in producing feel good moments of high drama. Australia's PM, Julia Gillard, took a leaf out of that play book.

Actually one Democratic aide. Bruce Wolpe, viewed the entire speech as a 'Ronald Reagan Moment' "It just worked. She did it as well as he did. In 29 minutes, she bought another 10 years of solid alliance with the US. It was an absolute connection to the American psyche.''

Citing the Apollo program (twice) Gillard ended by telling Congress "You can do anything".
