If you thought that "The Passion of the Christ" was over promoted for political reasons just hold on to your hat when this (Part 1 of 3) gets coverage that would make Ayn Rand question the capitalist-news media relationship.

Seriously Fox News will promote this like the Tea Parties.

5. The book reads like a cheezy Lifetime series
but it tells a lot of "self-made" men and women what they want to hear. Who expected them to appreciate realism, anyway?

I think all it needs is Susan Hayward singing under a huge Calder mobile.

10. Yup, that book is pretty much an FU at reason...
She "created" the jobs... The workers should be thankful.

Capital never acknowledges that without labor, they are just crazy people in suits with idle toys.

11. I very rarely visit Freeptardville, so I'm not sure where I saw this-
Edited on Mon Mar-28-11 10:01 PM by WhoIsNumberNone
-But some time in the recent past I saw some right-wingers speculating online whether the "left-wing Hollywood establishment would ever allow them to see this movie". They're obviously very excited about this.

Show of hands; Anybody think the "left-wing Hollywood establishment" will turn up its nose at money- regardless of who's paying?

Obviously some right wing financier thought is was time to make this turd- and if it's not on 1200 screen on opening weekend it's because he thought he'd make a bigger profit by making the Reagan Youth believe it was being hushed up.

Jebus, just that clip was more than enough. It has all the quality of a freshman film class assignment.

14. "Over-promoted"...? I don't think so...
Barely one week from release, this film is getting virtually ignored just like the cheesy, low-budget work it is. Although I'm sure some Randroids will be orgasmic with delight that their "scripture for capitalist atheists" is finally reaching the screen, I'm sure more of them will be highly disappointed that, after fifty-four years of waiting, it came to the screen in this very un-spectacular manner.

Personally, I think that the fact that the guardians of Rand's estate finally had no choice but to sell the rights to Their Precious to a TV-episode director so he could do a low-budget production with a no-name cast (last time I checked, the biggest "star" in the project was the guy who played Principal Snyder in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) says how much their idol's star has fallen, no matter how many teabaggers claim to live by the book without, obviously, having ever read it.
