That is when you pick up yourself? I am very inconsistent in my approach, tipping when I know a waitress has been pulled away to write up and prepare the order. Yet, I often don't when I go to most Chinese restaurants since many are predominantly "take out" rather than "sit down" restaurants to begin with. When I do tip, I don't tip 15%, but usually more like 10-12%...

So, while I always tip well in a traditional restaurant setting and I tip standard 15% to delivery orders, would I end up on this guys "terrible tip" list for not doing so consistently with pick up orders? Should I?

the Government allocates tips if you don't claim any, meaning if you get a lot of bad tippers you can end up paying taxes on money you never got.

If you earn tips you are taxed a percentage of your sales. People don't get that.

then it doesn't matter if you have a crappy tipper or a good tipper, you get paid a fair wage for your job, and won't be taxed on money you never got.

yes, i know they cost of the restaurant meal would go up, i expect that and i would rather pay the price stated on the menu and know the servers were making a decent wage.

Restaurants get away with murder. Let see, working in the hotel restaurant business for more than 25 years the hourly wage for waiters has not change. 2.13 here in Georgia. So that means they are expecting you to make at least 4.00 dollars or more an hour in tips. And they tax that amount whether you are making it or not. You also are suppose to clean their restaurants, bathrooms, dinning areas, windows etc. You are also required to tip your bus boys, your bar tenders and food runners. It's such bullshit.. waiters should be paid at least minimum wage for all the crap they expect you to do. I quit the business several years ago and now I can breath again.

Guessed at a few with no success.
