Olbermann disagrees with Moore's recent statement about Bin Laden but defends and encourages his questions, along with questions of others who refuse to accept at face value government accounts of important events.

2. Thanks for posting this
Although I'm okay, so far, with how things wound up with bin Ladin, I can't fault or demonize MM for his position. His public conscience made me reexamine why I felt the way I did. I didn't change my mind but am glad for his sincere prodding. And I'm glad to hear Keith talk about all this in his most articulate style.

7. Calling them "mamby-pambeys elites"etc.Failed to see you can criticize yet still support Obama
Hell Ed, certainly you don't agree with everything the president does. You railed about extending the Bush tax cuts and still mention it as if it were Obama's main desire instead of quoting the president saying he really did not want to do this but refused to cause anymore unnecessary suffering to the '99ers and agreed to it because it was the only way republican's would allow another year's extension of unemployment benefits. The president had to grit his teeth in agreeing to this republican blackmail but always said he was doing it ONLY because these '99ers were already hurting badly enough.

Sometimes you can be a real asshole Ed Shultz... especially when you show your obvious disdain for educated people...but I still love ya cause your heart's in a good place in wanting to help and aid the downtrodden and stand up for the middle class. See, that's how it's done...disagree but still support. You owe an apology to the liberal left who question the methods of the president at times yet still support him. (Public option anyone? How about that FISA vote or Bush tax cut extension or appointing Petraeus to head the CIA?)

6. Excellent, thoughtful commentary from Keith.
Michael Moore is an American hero who has been trashed at the cost of millions of dollars by the Health Insurance Ind. He has right far more often than he has been wrong, and I'm glad Keith is defending people's right to question. As always, he did a great job.

Can't wait 'til he's back on the air. I miss his wisdom on TV.

12. I do not agree with MM on this one either. I have absolutely no regrets
or remorse about the way OBL was taken out. This was a dangerous mission. We shouldn't be second guessing the SEAL team. Besides, it would have been more destructive keeping him alive on numerous levels. It would have created a political and media spectacle, which would have then given more fodder to our enemies. I like the idea that quietly executed him and dumped his rotten corpse in the sea for fish bait- no fanfare, no photos, no attention. Here one day, gone the next, end of story.

13. I had to quit following him on twitter
because he started getting redundant.

I was like "ok, Mike, I get it..." But maybe the litany of tweets wasn't for my attention, but for those who were in a stupor the last time some shit went down. So I just get him retweeted by someone else.

I don't disagree with him, either, but I think Ed was a bit over-exercised over it.

14. The fact is everybody's somewhat right about this.
It is right for Ed to support Obama and the Seals' decision in the mission to kill OBL. Keith said he did, too.
It is right for MM to be able to question the necessity of killing OBL. Keith said he agreed with that, too.

The only discrepancy is Ed saying he didn't want to hear MM's questioning the actions taken by Obama and the Seals. Ed could have worded that better by simply stating he disagreed with MM.

I'm not sure this warranted a Special Comment from Keith, but it does help promote the fact that MM will be a contributor on Keith's new show, which I cannot wait to see.

15. Good ole Keith
Nice to see Keith's beautiful mind at work once again.

I am a liberal and I have some troubles and issues about what principals America stands for vs. "taking Osama out".

The consequences of capturing Bin Laden alive would be horrific and unpredictable. What happened is not American principals at their best, but a decision that was probably the best of a limited set of choices that best served the greater good.

I love Michael and Keith and America needs them in the national debate. We need to get all our constitutional rights back in full working order and overthrow the corporate stranglehold on our entire government.

we're American's. We've fought full blown fucking all out wars against other nations TO DEFEND OUR FREEDOMS. I do not want all of our brave citizens that gave their lives for their country to have died in vain!

-90% Jimmy

PS - I've found so many of my liberal hero's get it wrong a lot of times. The good ones realize it and correct their views. Keith does that sometimes. Maybe Michael has, too?

17. All fine and good. But question the official 9/11 story and see what Keith says
Not to mention if you question the official obl story deeper than Moore has.

I'm a 9-11 "skeptic". I have noticed that 911 CT's are not very welcome at DU.

I do recall Michael's 911 CT question was simply; "If the government has nothing to hide, how come they're hiding so much information about 911?

I would like the history of 9-11 to be repeatedly reexamined and questioned. Especially because 911 was used as a justification for America invading Iraq. I will never accept in my lifetime the doctrine of invasion by outright GW Bush White House lies. America and the World must obliterate from all possibility that there ever be another "war by deliberate mistake" like the crimes against humanity perpetrated by these Nuremberg caliber War Criminals.

Let's focus on getting back to how a sane Democratic Republic would deal with White House Level War Criminals. To do otherwise is to repudiate what this country has striven to stand for since it's inception. To do otherwise is to condemn the future of this planet to a dark ages totalitarian existence. I want the possibility of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness to be enjoyed by future generations who have a big job ahead of them turning the world around and making the future better for all people on this planet.

-90% Jimmy

the govt had something to do with 9/11.... even though it totally did. And so KO is just being a hypocrite.

19. Kill list is a slam dunk!
It's a slam dunk that Iraq has WMDs and a nuclear program. You betcha, we should question the offical story. Will we be revisiting such assassinations as Rev Martin Luther King? Here in PA you can be listed as a terrorist simply by trespassing on gas drilling property and homeland security has targeted and spied on citizens opposed to gas well fracturing.

Anyone who thinks there isn't a problem with increased surveillance, and lack of public court trials should watch the movie about life under the stasi; "The Lives of Others".
