1. So in europe people are actively protesting cuts to social spending
and government inaction on the unemployment front? And they have health care? And mandatory vacation days? But here in the US where millions go without health care and health care costs still burden many and we have absolutely no mandatory vacation days our politicians talk of making further cuts to social spending and cutting medicaid, and replacing medicare with vouchers leaving our elderly out of luck and we, do .....?

3. It's not the people in the square who are voting
The center-right just got the votes because the left are in power right now. This is a protest against an entire political system where corruption and incompetence has been institutionalized. And it is still democratic in its form, no sign of extreme ideology here. That's whats interesting about his.

Remember that Spain has only been a democracy 36 years.
