The Texas state legislature is in rare sexist form this year, and last night State Rep. Senfronia Thompson had enough. A group called the Texas Civil Justice League distributed a flyer showing a baby nursing on a breast with with words over it criticizing a bill they said would expand the �nanny state.� The bill�s actually about regulation of consolidated insurance programs � it�s not even related to reproductive health issues.

This was the final straw for Rep. Thompson, who went off on the disrespect for women in the legislature. And it�s amazing.

Senfronia Thompson represents Texas House District 141, including much of Harris County including Houston.

1. Good for you, brave lady, and the ladies that joined you.

Interesting the way the man behind Rep. Thompson did everything but listen to her, including it appears using that tall white cup as a chewing tobacco receptacle. Apologies if I'm wrong about that, but to me it looked pretty gross.

3. There is an old saying...

Texas is he'll on women and horses. People often make the mistake that Texan women are 'southern bells', but I am here to tell you that you don't reach a certain age here and not be tough as nails. If a fight breaks out, my money is on Senfronia. The women in the house have had enough and are taking names and kicking butt. They may not be great in number but they are riled up. Yes, I know Senfronia...that is the angriest I have seen her.

She is absolutely correct and
