1. If this were happening in NYC

There would be 24/7 news coverage. But because it's happening in the Heartland, the MSM doesn't give a damn. Even if Fort Calhoun were to melt down, the news about it would take a back seat to the Casey Anthony trial. :mad:

Who could have ever imagined a berm made of plastic/rubber might get punctured? Surely the Mississippi is properly filtered and free of any sharp objects. And of course anyone working near it would be especially careful as this is only one of two dams preventing a nuclear disaster.

Obama best stop saying things are safe because events have proven him wrong every time.

6. It's a concrete slab. Or it was at VT Yankee when I went in '08.

No clue the specs on that slab, but if they're all chained to it then that's a bunch of weight. That said, I'm much more concerned about corrosion and leakage. If they break free they'll pick them up in a boat, if they leak... well that's a much bigger issue. Then again, plenty of video of them shooting missiles at these things and lighting them on fire, so they're pretty hardy.
