This week Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert, report on selling Greece's sovereignty and Spain's El Gordo. In the second half of the show, Max talks to economist Michael Hudson about the IMF assassins sent in to destroy the Greek economy.

The Fourth of July: the day America celebrates its independence. Historically it was when the US gained independence from British rule, through the American Revolution, marked by the Declaration of Independence. But is the America of today, involved militarily in 6 countries, violating the independence and sovereignty of other nations, as it celebrates its own, and at what cost?

1. And here I thought that it was the opposite:
that American neo-feudalism was infecting Europe.

2. The baboon petting zoo exists because the unlike other productive
countries allows imports from nearly everywhere without imposing even a small tax.

Those of us on Social Security are creditors of the US government. If the US government just put a small tax on imports, companies who now produce products overseas and import them to the US market would have an incentive to produce products here -- and Americans could get back to productive work.

Right now, American wages have been reduced to barely enough to support existence. And since the bulk of our tax revenue is calculated as a percentage of a working person's incomes, tax revenues are low compared to expenditures. After all, a masseuse and a hamburger chef can only earn so much and only pay a little of their earnings in taxes.

Right now, I am 68 -- one of your baboons, alas, healthy and intelligent enough to have several degrees. But there is no way that any boss would hire me when so many gorgeous girls and up-and-coming guys under 30 are applying.

The only way that the US can solve its problems is to forget about free trade and return to tariffs. We import incredible amounts of stuff from China, Germany, South America, etc. It isn't just causing our deficit. The lack of real work is disorienting to our society.

Meanwhile, I am not working, on Social Security and receive several credit card offers every week. What insanity.

3. I can agree with that.
I don't have issues with importing stuff, but why not use some tariffs?
After all, it'd help the economy get back on its feet, right? I support fair trade initiatives, as well.
