1. Loved this. If only
the rest of the media called them all out on their vast hypocrisies. 'Course this would take up all airtime, 24/7.

2. Horrors! Marriages sometimes do not work out, and infidelity in marriage is
unfortunately all too common. (See my avatar. I don't judge people by how good their marriages are.) But, not taking care of your children? Not paying court-ordered child support when you clearly have money? And then using your children for political points? That's really disgusting.

4. Dodged that bullet.
My hometown of Algonquin is just a little out of this guy's district, so at least I know my fam and friends didn't vote for him. Still, it sucks that people around me put this dope in office.

Yeah, Illinois isn't as solid blue as you think. Outside Cook County, it's just like Indiana.

6. He banned him from his show.
Wow, I'll bet that really ruined Walsh's day. I worry about Walsh committing suicide over the problem of not being able to appear on Lawrence O'Donnell's show. How can he possibly continue his career without Lawrence O'Donnell?

My wife has a vendetta against Walmart and won't walk in the door of their stores. I guess she really showed them. But they haven't closed many stores lately.

For me it's Ralph's groceries. Hate those stores. Won't patronize them. Except the spicy chicken wings in their deli are really good. I miss those. Maybe I should break my boycott once in a while for those wings. Get my point? My boycott is harming me more than it is them.

Lawrence O'Donnell is a pontifical jackass.

9. Joe Walsh is a media whore.
Lawrence O'Donnell also called on other members of the media to deprive him access to the airwaves. I hope they join him. In the process of banning him, O'Donnell exposed Walsh for the hypocritical pos he is. Had O'Donnell not covered this story, I strongly suspect you'd be one of the first in line complaining about the cover up.

17. No offense but you seem to be the jackass
Your wife doesn't shop at Wal-Mart not because she thinks they might close the store or company. It is her own personal decision not to give your hard earned money to a rip-off, junk retail outlet. Just like LO doesn't think that Walsh will be "committing suicide" because he is banned. He's doing it in the name of principle. He can't spew his bullshit right-wing garbage on LO's show.

I think you missed the whole point of the message dude.

44. Actually she does hope to drive Walmart out of business
...which is part of my point. Don't presume to tell me what my wife is doing when you have never met my wife. Dude.

I don't patronize Ralphs because I don't like interacting with their rude employees.

I'm fine with the criticism of Joe Walsh. He is a sleaze. But the original poster said that O'Donnell "annihilates" Walsh when Walsh was not even the room. He was critical of him and banned him from the show but to "annihilate" someone you must at least confront them and O'Donnell did not do that. It was the original poster's implication, not mine, as it was he who chose the wording.

I was pointing out that the original poster's implication of Walsh somehow slinking off with his tail between his legs was ridiculous because he probably is unmoved by O'Donnell's attack on him and could care less what O'Donnell thinks about him. His political career depends entirely on what the primary voters in his district think of him, and it is unlikey that Republican primary voters in his district watch MSNBC.

So I'm sure that O'Donnell enjoyed doing it and I'm sure than those watching enjoyed watching him do it, but I doubt that it had any lasting effect on anything. It would be more effective to have his misbehavior aired in his home district, in a medium which will reach people who vote in Republican primary elections, so that they might run an opponent against him in that primary and cost him his seat.

7. Good for Lawrence for banning this shit stain from his show, but...
It needs to be taken a step further. Lawrence, Rachel, Ed, Sharpton. Keith Olberman and every progressive radio host needs to line up Laura Walsh, her attorney and kids as a guest and pound on this piece of shit unmercifully until every dime is paid and everyone knows what a low life lying sack of shit he is. Make an example of this Fucker that no one will ever forget.

Or at the very least, ask him, first thing, when he is interviewed, why he said he wouldn't want to impose one more penny of debt on the nation's children while he owed over one hundred thousand dollars of child support for the care of his own three children.

11. TeaBaggers are deadbeat citizens
teabaggers rush to war, then don't want to pay for it, or send their kids to fight in it. The current debt ceiling is paying for the wars they couldn't wait to start.
They want clean air and water, but don't want to pay for it. They want good schools, but don't want to pay for it. Highways, bridges, but want it all free.
How are teabaggers different than a shoplifter at Walmart?

Not only is he a dead-beat dad, he was busted twice for driving on a suspended license, the last incident in 2009. He was foreclosed on, and had liens against him for failure to pay income taxes. He's scum. He will not be my Rep. for much longer, due to re-districting. But the Republics in the IL state congress are fighting the re-districting, so who knows.

22. My Dad was a deadbeat Dad - never paid a dime to Mom. I did it differently.
Paid every dime of child support due, and happily, and over and above that.

Still paying, even though daughter is 35. Maybe that's not such a good idea, but times are tough. Better idea than Joe Walsh's, though.

23. Soooo.....why isn't he in jail??? That's not a rhetorical question...
Parents go to jail all the time these days for not paying child support; even when it's a hardship case and the non-custodial parent CAN'T pay for some reason, they're likely to still be thrown in jail.

Joe Walsh's constituents are entitled to a statement from a court official in the jurisdiction where the divorce took place as to why the court has failed to find Mr. Walsh in contempt and send him to jail. Maybe Mr. Walsh's deadbeat-dad lawyer can facilitate that for us.

This is just one more example of how the wealthy get away with crimes that we, the untermenschen would be incarcerated for.

41. True
About 25 years ago I sat on a jury that had to decide if a deadbeat dad would be sent to prison. After we were sequestered, the judge came into our room and explained that this fellow had been to "civil court" a couple of times and was ordered to pay child support. After he failed to do so, his case went to "criminal court."

His defense was he hadn't worked during the time-frame of the suit. We heard witnesses. One social worker who had worked with the defendant testified that he told her he "had worked odd jobs here and there." We decided that even with just one day's pay, he could have sent something on to his family, but chose not to.

We sent him to prison.

35. Joe Walsh---Deadbeat Dad
You, my friend, give all of us Dads out here who pay their child support and who owe no back child support a bad name. I just got done paying child support for the last 19 years. Yes, it was a struggle at times. But every night when I went to bed I knew that my children had a roof over their heads, clothes, shoes, and food. I would do extra things with my kids when I had the extra money. Times were tough financially for me but not for my kids. I hate people like you. You make me and thousands of other fathers and mothers who pay their child support sick to our stomachs. How can you look at yourself in the mirror? How can the people in your district trust you to make decisions for our children, for our elderly? As my Grandmother would say, "Shame on you!" So you and your tea party friends can stick to your principals and refuse to compromise all you want. But just remember, there are thousands of us out here who stuck to our principals and did make compromises for the sake of our children. I just hope that when the next election rolls around that the people in your district remember what you have done and vote for someone else.
