The corporations created a monster. That monster is a group of ideologues who’ve wormed their way into Congress - and now have the power to take down our entire economy and condemn all of us to a second Great Depression. Make no mistake about it - we have an established Third Party in Congress today for the first time in over 100 years - the Tea Party zombies. It’s a third party based in political naivete - irresponsible idealism - and corrupted morality. It’s a third party that thinks compromise is a bad word - that thinks if they yell and threaten enough they can get the Democratically-controlled Senate and White House to bend to their will. It’s a party that thinks it’s on a mission to crash the economy - thus setting the stage to drastically remake America and trash the New Deal-economics that have created the last century’s prosperity - and replace it with a libertarian free-market that has defined the last century of, for example, Somalia. It’s a third party that believes in Ayn Rand morality - that the poor - the sick - and the elderly should be condemned to death - that the socially safety net - one of the greatest accomplishments of modern man - is evil. Do you know why John Boehner had to pull his debt-limit plan off the floor? It’s because the Tea Party went nuts over Pell Grants. As in-no-way-no-how will they support a bill that helps students go to college. We can no longer believe that the Tea Party is controlled by Republicans - the Tea Party is on its own now - running roughshod through Congress as we've witnessed in this debt-limit debate - even John Boehner knows this himself by now. And what Republicans and the rest of us need to be asking ourselves today is…how did this happen? How did our constitutional democracy allow a group of destructive ideologues to take power in Congress and drag our country into economic ruin? What - happened? Tune in.

Your OP is holding the wrong people accountable. You might have missed it but Cons don't give in don't you remember the entire anti-war movement that descended on Bush, how did Bush continue to do what Bush wanted with that type of grass roots political pressure?

I have been listening very carefully and no matter what Democrats say, i.e., Pell Grants, Medicare, elderly, poor, sick, Social security, its not gaining traction against the teabags threats that debt will destroy America......

This means that inevitably, medicare and social security are gone, tax reform will create a system where everyone pays and no one gets any kind of credit, or deduction and the entire debate will turn form one of forcing corporations to be fair to making everyone put in more money....

It sucks but its gonna happen, happening now...

Unfortunately, the undertones are a little more diabolic than most realize. As many have been noticing, these people, by large, far, and wide conservatives, are being conditioned to believe that everything that goes wrong in this nation is the fault of 'liberals'.

Problem is, 'Liberal' means; "Anyone who disagrees with me or my sources" (Poor grammar and all). They are being conditioned successfully because they have been stripped of (or never possessed) the ability to use reason. We are in very, very deep trouble because this time around the crash that we recognize is being engineered will not 'wake' these people up. Instead it will cause them to submerge themselves deeper in their beliefs. Those beliefs are what justify their irrational and mindless hatred of 'liberals' (see above), which puts this nation and the people in very grave danger.

If corporations have their way, shortly after they install one of their own in 2016, we will finally see the result of their agenda. Whether the crash will hit its bottom before or after, the corporate media will have long since fed undertones (or, in the case of Fox, blaring overtones) of 'evil liberal/socialist policies' to the people. When it happens, the corporations will have an army of ignorant, angry, unreasonable, and violent people to attack anyone and everyone they deem 'responsible'. Those will be 'liberals', economists, scientists, scholars of all stripes, and anyone that could potentially threaten corporate dominance. Whether this will appear to be organized by the government, or take place in 'Radio Rwanda' fashion, the likely hood of a civil breakdown is very high.

Again, I believe, with reason, that this is being engineered for the sake of the elite corporate class escaping retribution.

Naturally, I very much hope I'm wrong.
