1. "(RW) Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice" - Barry Goldwater, 1964. Still the MSM credo.

But that only applied to the extreme right, who get a pass or a whitewash for virtually any and all vices, including mass-murder, terrorism, massive financial frauds, illegal wiretapping, etc.

So long as its all in the family, it's ok.

2. While I think what was said was totally different,

I felt exactly like Mrs. Obama did on that night! I agreed that it was ok to be proud for the first time. I understood exactly what she was saying. For the first time in my adult life, I was proud of this country. Obama's was the first inauguration I ever watched. I couldn't stop tearing up I was so fiercely proud that America could transcend her racist elements to elect Mr. Obama. (Now I watch him and cry for other reasons, but that is beside the point.) I think Michelle Obama is the most elegant, beautiful and intelligent first lady in modern history. Jackie O is a close second.
