Burton calmly and skillfully rips Rove a new one... Watching "Turd Blossom" go apoplectic is priceless.

2. Evil wins this one
Though Burton was 100% correct, I think he was trounced in this 83 second TV debate by a far more skilled opponent. Sadly, Democrats like Hillary Clinton did in fact vote to authorize the Iraqi war despite there being a Commander in Chief who could not be trusted with this power. Rove's argument that the Democrats were every bit as complicit in the Iraqi quagmire diminishes the charge that Republicans are solely responsible for this debacle very effectively. Let's face it, the Democrats, with few exceptions, really blew it!

3. Rove is a spin master.
His comebacks here really defused what had been said earlier. I can't stand Rove but he's an evil spinmeister.

5. No it doesn't. Poitically the GOP has been selling that for years
It's BS.

It would have never happened if they didn't lie.

Now you can blame Dems for trusting Bush and his party that they wouldn't lie us into war while making up shit which they always do.

14. You got it 100% "Che" obviously misses that point....Bush brought up 9-11
Edited on Sun Aug-21-11 08:19 PM by LaPera
daily, over & over, day after day after day and purposely used and exploited 9-11 every chance Bush got with lie after lie after lie and the majority party republicans, pointed fingers at anyone as un-American un-Patriotic and people ate it up because Bush tied everything he did and lied about to 9-11!

All for his lying greedy ideology & agenda, domestic policy and republicans wars for corporate profits....The republicans had full majority power in the Senate, the congress, the presidency and the right-wing republican partisan unfit Supreme court judges who create policy instead of doing their job, which is their only job, to interpret the Constitution.

The republicans had six long years of full & complete power up to January 2007 Bush and the republicans made sure these wars for corporate profit would go on forever. The greedy elitist republicans purposely drained our economy with huge deficits and unpaid for programs, subsidies and tax cuts for the rich & corporations.....the same filthy lying fucking republicans who want to privatize every social program & government agency all for more profit for the richest and their corporations....

As the sickening evil wicked vindictive arrogant monster Dick Cheney said "we'll have never ending war".

And the village idiot Bush said may times, "war is good for the economy".

BULLSHIT! NO, war is good for no one, only the rich and their corporations love war and reap the huge profits from our taxes.

10. The Democrats were presented
with false intelligence manufactured by the Bush Administration. I will not face it, you face it. Bush should be in prison for misleading the American people into a war.

6. The more important point
The is more a important point that wasn’t made. From early 2009 through late 2010 the House sent hundreds of bills to the Senate. The filibuster rules allowed a single senator to say he objected (without having to actually stand up and filibuster) and they had to go through the process of getting 60 votes. The republicans did this on bills that they were fully in favor of just because they could.

While Bill Burton is able to state a significant fact, I also would by no means classify him as ripping Rove a new one or describe Rove as being rattled.

11. The fact remains
the Bush Administration falsified intelligence to persuade the American people and the congress to go to war under false pretenses.

13. Don't blame Repukes for the Democrat's votes! Every Democrat was provided with the same evidence,
but 126 examined that evidence and voted AGAINST the Iraq war resolution.

Hate to tell you, but Rove's right. And we all knew the Pukes would take the opportunity to slap the Dems with this every time the Iraq War was raised.

15. The Bush Administration
gave the American people and the congress FALSE manufactured intelligence and exaggerated the threat to coerce congress into voting for a war. Some saw through the ruse, some didn't.

I blame the Bush Administration entirely. They are completely responsible. The Bush Administration is responsible for every life lost and every dime spent. It is entirely on their heads.

16. You shouldn't. Everyone was presented with the same tainted evidence yet ...
126 Democrats were still able to make the just decision.

You can blame the Bush Administration for corrupting the case, but how do you explain that 126 individuals presented with that corrupt evidence were *still* able to make the "correct" decision?

All Democrats were presented with the same information - tainted, yes, - but the same information. They were all free to decide either way, and some of them chose to side with and enable the warmongers. That decision is on their conscience, not Bush's. They own it. No way do they get a free pass on that one.
