Facing Republican criticism, the Obama administration is planning to cut some government regulations in an effort to help reduce the budget deficit. Food safety (the FDA), business regulations and the Fairness Doctrine are could be affected.

2. K&R, will watch later, this is SHAMEFUL
please bombard the WH comment line at 202-456-1111 and the office of your members of Congress. This is just ridiculous. Please please PLEASE let this just be a trial balloon, but I do predict that Obama will appeal to Republicans with something on the lines of deregulation. And the Fairness Doctrine? That's been dormant since 1987!

5. Yeah, you never hear about the Fairness Doctrine except
for when the RW radio hacks use it as a bogeyman. I don't remember ever hearing Obama (or Hillary) say they wanted to reconstitute the Fairness Doctrine so they can crush talk radio, but Limbaugh does.
