Efforts by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman have motivated AG's in other states to investigate banks for questionable mortgage practices. Why is the Obama Administration interfering? The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur explains.

Unbelievable!

4. It is not like the rule of law exists any more so, no worries, unless the R's want to impeach, but
They would rather protect the banks as well, that doesn't mean that they won't let him take the blame in the election,
They will pretend they care about law then.

Yes pension funds have been robbed but who is getting protection? It doesn't matter what these people say, it's what they do and who they unify with that discloses their hypocrisy. Like one astute DU member stated on DeSwiss' thread yesterday about this..DC stands for District of Corruption.

8. This guy is doing a great service for the American people.
The plain truth about things is almost extinct in the MSM.

Cenk Uygur always makes sense to me.

9. Cenk is right on point!
Although, if Schneiderman does as Cenk suggests, and keeps pushing for real justice, he will be neutralized by the powers that be, one way or the other. When BILLIONS are in play some people will kill to keep that power.

How the Obama regime can get away with this transparent criminal bankster snuggle-up / cover-up crap is unbelievable,. people should be up in arms, at least torches and pitchforks surrounding the whitehouse and banks,. perhaps a guillotine or two.., justice has to come from somewhere, and be seen by all.

I guess if you hold up a liquor store at knife point people can understand that is a crime,. however when you manipulate investments and take BILLIONS from retirement funds people have more difficulty actually seeing the crime. Sad but true.

16. Obama will not have anyone to protect him
like Obama protected Bush. I can't imagine a President Perry saying, "We must look forward." Maybe Romney will do it.

11. Obama Sides With Dirty Bankers (Rolling Stone)
Obama Sides With Dirty Bankers

A power play is underway in the foreclosure arena, according to the New York Times.

On the one side is Eric Schneiderman, the New York Attorney General, who is conducting his own investigation into the era of securitizations – the practice of chopping up assets like mortgages and converting them into saleable securities – that led up to the financial crisis of 2007-2008.

On the other side is the Obama administration, the banks, and all the other state attorneys general.

This second camp has cooked up a deal that would allow the banks to walk away with just a seriously discounted fine from a generation of fraud that led to millions of people losing their homes.

12. How Can They Keep the Public in the Dark?
No matter what Obama and Geithner do, they're screwed. Bank of America grew enormous under the deregulated banking laws, and the same lack of protection they capitalized on is going to destroy them. The closer the Cave Man's administration is to BOA, the worse it's going to look. Schneiderman is the winner here.

15. The bailout could have been done right.
And it also could have been predicated on the results of investigations and indictments. We could have broken up the "too big to fail banks" as a condition of the bailout.
