3. She really is. I just transcribed the first part that got me:
When she was describing how they have chosen to sleep outside, they have been surrounded by brothers and sisters who have not chosen to sleep out there...

"It was chosen for them by a cruelly designed economic model that distorts the very spirit of human beings, a process so degrading to human dignity that we can be convinced to feel grateful for a part-time job on minimum wage, with no benefits.

And if we complain about the injustice, we are told it is we who are at fault. In this way we are pressed into servitude. The idea is to make us so exhausted, angry or depressed that we can't even think about making changes to society."

BAM!

4. Wow.......
They were both powerful speakers but especially the young woman.........the image of sleeping, by choice, on cardboard, next to someone who had not chosen that resting place brought me to tears. There is so much abundance in this country and yet we accept poverty rather than question it. Those that say some choose to be poor and unemployed never ask why? Perhaps there is a small number of people that make that choice for a number of reasons but most homeless and destitute you speak to tell you they want to be working, carrying their own weight, contributing. And what do the 1% do? They raise banking fees and open more bottles of champagne. It is time for a revolution in this country against the 1%. It can begin with protests and petitions but eventually it is going to require more.
