like many progressives analyzing this problem thom doesn't have time to monitor talk radio and there's no comprehensive transcript database to know what they're saying and how often, to be able to monitor the trends anyway. at least randi rhodes has it figured out how instrumental talk radio has been.

DOCTRINE, it would have a major effect on corruption and fraud by corporate owned government. The media would be forced to report on these things honestly and if they gave commentaries they would have to provide air-time for opposing viewpoints. IMO the way to fix it is to recognize the individual radio stations are the problem and their local sponsors and the universities that endorse them by broadcasting sports on them need to be shamed for the racism, sexis, and global warming denial till the only sponsors left will defend the limbaughs- and that won't be many in most communities.
