"I find it ironic that Republicans have such disdain for the lazy, and yet their solution to every problem is do nothing. Their answer to wealth inequality, do nothing. Health care? Do nothing. Climate change? Nothing. Racism? Doesn’t exist. For a group of people so head over heels in love with self-reliance, they sure do recommend a lot of sitting on their ass." ~Bill Maher

2. They should broadcast the GOP candidate statements
without the commentary. It would probably be funnier.

5. In a related note - last year the right tried to say that Mr. Potter was hero
Mr. Potter in "It's a Wonderful Life". You can look that one up.

8. It's a Wonderful Life took a lot of heat when it was released, believe it or not-
The FBI considered it communist propaganda for 'deliberately maligning the upper class' and 'glorifying the triumph of the common man'. (http://www.wisebread.com/fbi-considered-its-a-wonderful-life-communist-propaganda#memo1)

These are probably the same reasons there's never been a US remake of Metropolis.

6. MAD Magazine did a bit
Of classic stories as summarized by republicans and had Reagan giving a synopsis of, "A Christmas Carol," which defended Scrooge as a job creator, being visited by 3 socialist ghosts, etc. It was true then, even more so today.

7. That line from Bachmann is right out of Atlas Shrugged, isn't it?
Either that or it's an Ayn Rand quote...
